Responsibilities
The CRNA Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational strategy of the CRNA/Technician/PCA operation within the Department of Anesthesiology. Works in alignment with the Mayo Clinic strategic and operational plans, Mayo Model of Care, and the Department of Anesthesiology Operational plan. Collaborates with leadership on the establishment of the vision/strategic direction, financial management, and facilitates the attainment of departmental goals and objectives. Responsible for Department of Anesthesiology operations, recruitment, mentoring, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, staff satisfaction, quality and practice integration. Demonstrates leadership within and outside of the Department. Performs clinical anesthesia duties and takes appropriate responsibility for direct patient care as needed. Participates in on-call schedule as needed. Maintains active and current general knowledge of the practice and able to assist/coach/mentor Supervisors. Initiates and oversees quality and process improvement projects in collaboration with physician and CRNA leaders. This individual has the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's specific needs and assures that age appropriate care is delivered for the population served.
Qualifications
Master's Degree required.
Graduate of a nationally accredited anesthesia program.
5+ years of CRNA leadership experience required.
Additional Qualifications:
DNP or PhD preferred.
Requires ability to communicate effectively, have crucial conversations, work collaboratively with others, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated ability in team building, problem solving, decision-making, continuous improvement, and financial accountability required.
Computer skills including electronic medical record, word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications required.
Project leadership and coordination experience required.
Must be an active member in respective professional organizations at state and national level.
Formal training or experience in quality/value improvement, patient safety, and expense management, as well as experience working with Joint Commission, Arizona Department of Health Services, and knowledge of other accrediting body standards preferred.
