General Summary

Plans, organizes and manages daily operations for WellSpan's Epic Cogito team as part of the ACoE. This includes expansion and enrichment of the Epic reports, dashboards, slicer/dicer, data warehouse (Caboodle) and Epic registries. Provides direct and consultative services to WellSpan organization, partners, and providers. Responsible for the overall success of analytics within the Epic environment and for coordinating analytics tasks across all Epic applications. The Manager-Cogito is a key participant in the organization's analytics strategy, delivering information to the enterprise through analytics and data visualization platforms within Epic Cogito environment. Develops, manages and reports metrics/measurements to support continuous improvement and contribute to organizational success. Develops and implements processes to ensure the quality and consistency of information provided to customers. Consults with all areas of the ACoE to deliver business intelligence solutions leveraging the best application of data assets and technology to business unit goals and improvements. Designs, develops, and delivers practical training, coaching, presentations, and resources to enable business intelligence maturity and engagement at any level of the organization. Stays current on emerging Epic Cogito technologies and innovations.

Essential Functions:

Plans, organizes, and manages activities in assigned area(s) of responsibility.Sets project priorities, provides overall direction and guidance to assigned personnel, and coordinates schedules and other related activities.Provides leadership in requirements gathering for analytics solutions through collaboration with clinicians or administrators, either individually or as part of a design team.Assigns work, reviews progress to goals, and prepares activity and progress reports.Maintains effective working relationship with Epic and other application software vendors.Promotes the implementation and enrichment of Epic reports, dashboards, slicerdicer, Caboodle and Epic registries.Participates in data governance activitiesStays current with emerging solutions in Epic Cogito space.Educates end users on the use of the Cogito related analytics solutions and/or reporting tools.Promotes the use of the Epic Cogito tools by end users in alignment with the overall analytics strategy.Provides leadership to implement Epic Cogito solutions.Provides leadership in the definition of departmental standards, policies, procedures and methodologies associated with knowledge management functions, including those used to measure and improve the quality and productivity of the customer's business unit.

Recommends staffing levels, selects and assigns staff, evaluates performance, evaluates/tests competencies (as applicable), provides orientation, training and continuing education of staff, and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions.Coordinates and integrates services within the department/service line/entity, with other departments/service lines/entities, and with the System's primary functions. Participates in the selection of outside services (if needed).Continuously assesses and improves the department/service line/entity/System's performance. Maintains appropriate quality control/assessment programs (if applicable).Works with the director to recommend department/entity operating budget and ensures that department/entity operates within budget.Develops, establishes and implements goals, objectives, and policies and procedures for department/service line/entity operation, and which guide and support the provision of the department/service line/entity's services.Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

Minimum Education:

Work Experience:

8 years or more experience in Epic Cogito related areas Required
