Global Treasury, a segment of the American Express Finance group, is responsible for providing a balance sheet that provides a competitive advantage for the company. This includes managing liquidity and capital to support our business; delivering cost-effective, diverse, and resilient funding; and identifying, measuring, and addressing financial and operational risks.

Global Treasury Operations, a segment of Global Treasury, ensures AXP has the right amount of money, at the right time, in the right place, in the appropriate currency to fulfill its financial obligations when they become due. The Cash Management team is responsible for processing and the control of cash flows across the company along with the design, implementation, and reporting of the cash flow forecast and intraday cash flow processes.

Manager - Global Treasury Operations 

Responsible for excellence in managing daily cash processes for Canadian legal entities.  These processes ensure payment obligations are met on a timely basis, maximize available cash for investing and minimize borrowing costs within existing credit and maturity policy constraints. Oversight and execution of all cash, forecasting, FX and investment management activities on behalf of the Amex Bank of Canada (ABC).  Partner with the Treasurer of ABC to create and deliver any cash flow or ad hoc reporting in support of Canadian regulatory requirements. Produce daily, monthly and quarterly reporting of information to key business partners Ensure all cash settlements, wire transfers, and corporate remittances are executed according to existing policies, procedures, and controls Maintain and update desk operating procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and support business continuation plans Collaborate with business partners to implement new cash flows and processes within the Treasury Management System Evaluate the efficiency of operational controls and procedures to maximize departmental production and minimize errors Collaborate with Global Treasury Technology and Operational Transformation and the Operational Risk team to ensure all Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Canadian regulatory requirements are met Special Projects as assigned

How will you make an impact in this role?

The Manager will play a key role in executing our cash management, FX and investment strategies and developing a comprehensive business continuity plan that will incorporate training personnel, updating documentation, and reviewing PRSA controls. As a Manager on our Global Treasury Operations team, you will partner extensively with numerous Global Treasury teams to deliver on new initiatives including the enterprise critical Project Fast Forward Initiative.

Minimum Qualifications:

At least 3 To 5 Years of Treasury or Finance experience.  Cash Management and Banking Operations experience preferred. BS/BA/BBA Degree Required. Knowledge of Canadian banking environment including Payments Canada and associated regulatory matters preferred Knowledge of automated Treasury Workstation preferred Candidate must be able to work independently under strict deadlines in a fast-paced operations environment Highly Proficient in MS Excel & PowerPoint

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
