Position Responsibilities:

1. Determines and provides staffing - sets work schedules, vacation, time off and ensures proper coverage to minimize overtime.

2. Delegates duties and responsibilities to qualified employees as observed by the Director.

3. Conducts and reviews probationary and/or annual performance evaluations of staff on time; recommends actions (i.e. promotion) as needed. Documents in the personnel file.

4. Assists in budgetary preparations.

5. Provides leadership and establishes direction towards departmental goals and objectives as observed by the Director.

6. Interprets the philosophy, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of the department to all employees, patients and families.

7. Assists in the recruitment, interview, and selection process of department employees.  Provides orientation guidelines for the new staff as documented in the personnel files.

8. Demonstrates good judgment and knowledge of department needs in classifying and maintaining data.

9. Monitors supply expenditures to ensure budgetary compliance. Monitors revenue and expenses.

11. Is involved in vendor negotiations to ensure the most cost effective outcome for the medical center; is knowledgeable of the vendors and their products.

12. Ensures vendor compliance with medical center and departmental policies and procedures.

12. Whenever a new generation of products is introduced,ensures that all contracts go through an exchange process in agreement with vendors. This process is aimed to maximize the utilization of the new products.

13. Conducts comparison studies and develops uniformity between both campuses.

14. Documents and compiles statistical data concerning department workload volume, physician stats and cardiac rhythm management implants.

15. Assists the Director in ensuring compliance to established HRS/JCAHO requirements.

16. Assists the Director and Medical Director with on-going Quality Control programs and procedures.

17. Disseminates pertinent departmental information to staff as indicated.

18. Reviews and monitors the department charge master by staying current with the coding changes.

19. Acts as liaison to the physicians' billing staff, the office staff and the medical director.

20. Prepares daily workload volume report and distributes via e-mail to appropriate parties.

Qualifications:

Licensure/Registration/Certification: R.C.D.S.

Education: Bachelors in Science or equivalent, English speaking, typing, mat

Experience: Working expertise of computer operation, effective communications, 3 yr managerial/ supervisor experience in related field.
