Manager AR Optical Lab - Full time - Oak Park
GENERAL SUMMARY: The AR (Anti-Reflection) Lab Process Manager is responsible for all optical manufacturing processes, equipment, and staff that clean, dip, and coat the lenses with scratch resistant coating and anti-reflective coating applied to ophthalmic lenses. Is a subject matter expert on all things related to AR process. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Is the primary liaison between AR operations and lab production staff · Trains and supports process knowledge transfer to mitigate risk and create growth plan · Perform and train others on machine cleaning and routine maintenance on all equipment · Performs preventative maintenance on schedule and uses preventative maintenance software appropriately · Ensures 6S methodology and standards are adhered to at all times · Immediately reports any activity that impacts production to all stakeholders · Provides daily updates to other members of management with supporting data as required and appropriate · Work in Progress management and monitoring of priority orders in the space · Works with vendors for troubleshooting and maintenance · Performs all other duties as assigned EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: · Requires high school diploma; Associates degree preferred · Requires a minimum of three years’ experience in Anti-Reflection processes, preferably as a manager or supervisor · Requires Clean Room experience · Requires a minimum of 5 years of Optical lab experience · Must be comfortable as primary point of contact and responsibility for AR lab · Must be capable and willing to train others on an ongoing and routine basis to ensure strength within the department · Works harmoniously with others for extended hours, as required · Must be able to handle fast paced production, working under pressure or deadlines, dealing with multiple tasks, perform simple and repetitive tasks, pay attention to detail and must be able to control the direct work pace needed to keep up with the production line · Manage consumable usage with support from supply clerk CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: None Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS’ Customer Service Policy Must practice the customer skills as provided through on-going training and in-services.
