Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, Finance of Brookfield Private Equity (“Brookfield PE”) in India, the Manager will be responsible for supporting and managing aspects of the Financial Reporting function of the BBU group of entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficient financial operations. The Manager will work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver high quality outputs and support the growing needs of the underlying business.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the full-cycle finance operations of BBU. This is a highly visible role that interacts with many other departments, including the private funds, treasury, investments team, tax, and finance teams located in Canada and the US:
Support all accounting related activities:
Oversee and manage the maintenance of accurate financial records, working closely with the treasury team and private funds team to ensure proper recording for all transactions.Oversee the preparation of financial information required for public reporting, tax reporting and management reporting requirements, work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate representation of the BBU entities.Support the publicly traded companies’ (Brookfield Business Partners LP and Brookfield Business Corporation) consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS, including oversight of the consolidation process. Actively participate and support the resolution of complex technical accounting issues.Assist in preparation of various analyses and reports for senior management to support their business decision making.Drive process improvements as it relates to BBU and related systems.Lead and manage a team of bookkeeping professionals, including training and performance evaluations.Liaise with Brookfield leadership on the identification and assessment of business risks and emerging risks.Conduct risk reviews and liaise with business leaders to support business group risk initiatives, including leading analysis and presentations on specific strategic or operational risk topics, including SOX compliance.Qualifications & Requirements
Must Have:
Professional accounting designation (CA preferred)Trained at Big 4 accountancy firmMinimum of seven to eight (7-8) years of progressive work experience, with a preference for background in auditing, public company accounting processes and internal control over financial reporting, having spent last few years working in the industryStrong financial systems experience, including advanced MS-Excel skillsStrong analytical and research skills to identify and assess risks from various sources of dataA positive, proactive “can do” attitude and excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)Attention to detail, discretion in handling confidential information and ability to prioritize and adapt to changing demands and deadlines will be essentialDemonstrated leadership ability and initiativeExemplifies the right motivation by aspiring to achieve collective goalsPenchant for seeking out new experiences, knowledge and candid feedbackSelf-motivated and proactive, with respect to both managing workload and professional developmentAbility to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to manage different prioritiesNice to Have:
