Reporting to the VP - Sustainability, the Manager of Health and Safety will provide expertise and oversight to all aspects of workplace health and safety functions, including security, training and sustainability systems and compliance.
 

This role provides SME support to the region regarding Health and Safety compliance and advice, as well as the other areas for which the role is accountable.
 

This position requires on-site presence, and applicants should be prepared for regular weekly travel to the sites as part of the role. 


Accountabilities:
 

Drive the design and development of work and project plans to bolster regional sustainability strategies, while also tackling governance and compliance risks. The alignment of regional and operational approaches to enhance sustainability management systems, policies, and procedures to meet corporate and certification standards. The role involves coaching site leaders to uphold HS systems and processes and ensuring compliance with corporate and certification standards. Ensuring employees are properly trained and competent in their roles which is essential for maintaining safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards. It is critical that this function guarantees the operational workforce is skilled, safe, and capable of meeting the demands of their work roles. Ensuring a secure environment at our Australian operations, and Perth office through the development and implementation of the AGAA security risk management system.

About You

A strong commitment towards leading a safe work culture. Hold Tertiary qualifications in Safety and Environment or equivalent experience. Post graduate Safety and Environment qualifications preferred. 10 years in Mining/Heavy Industry related fields 5 years Leadership experience in leading multi-facet health related teams Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with people at all levels within the organisation. written and verbal communication skills. The ability to obtain a National Police Clearance. Have existing and ongoing valid Australian working rights (Mandatory).
