Manager: Electronic Payment Regulations & Queries

Primary Purpose

The role is responsible for managing the Bank’s domestic payment value chain to ensure operational compliance with industry standards by representing the Bank in the Payments industry Forums for responsible for domestic payments. The focus is to ensure that the organisation's payments offerings are innovative and differentiated and conform to the industry requirements. Interpret strategy for payment innovation and commercialisation for the Bank

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

NQF 6 in finance/EconomicsPASA certification in PaymentsBachelors degree in Commerce (advantage) – NQF7

Experience

10 years in banking within a payments and settlements environment.Extensive understanding of payment rails responsible for low-value paymentsExperience in dealing with PCH, other banks and PASExtensive knowledge of our internal product catalogStrong knowledge in handling payments related interbank queries

Financial Management

Ensure all payments are compliant with regulations and assist to document and manage the risk.Monitor and manage operational costs monthly to curb costs and remain within budget parameters.Manage the Cost of each payment type to ensure that its kept as low as possible.Manage financial SLA with external supplier.Provide input into the Pricing Committee the ensure that ensure that adequate cost recovery is in place.Assist in giving input to compile budgets and business plans for Payments

Client Experience

Responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Electronic Payments Support/ Card Operations Team and card account management activities relating to transactional banking products (individual and corporate), including processes, operational support service and ATM related activities. Synergise Strategic Alliance, Virtual channels, and Product Owner Support with Card Division for maintained focus.

Operational Excellence

Provide expert advice and guidance to the Product, Customer and Operations teams to ensure optimal development and management of payments and client relationships. (Payments subject matter expert)Assist the teams building the new payments utility, including mapping out processes while assessing the customer experience and the commercial impact.
Ensure that industry rules are correctly interpreted and implemented.Manage payment streams with due cognisance of:Contracting with internal department to perform activities for the various payment streams in terms of:Defined Standards for Levels & quality of service to be delivery. E.g., Responsiveness: Speed of responses, reaction time, going the extra mile, turnaround time.Manage Defined Standards for Levels & quality of service to be delivery as experienced by internal & external stakeholders.Interpret business/customer/payment requirements to provide timeous solutions.Net Promotor Score: Degree of satisfaction from customers & stakeholders
