About the Team

Are you passionate about our products and the role of Visual Merchandising to contribute to the overall product experience for the customer? Based in San Francisco, this position on behalf of Pottery Barn Kids and PotteryBarn Teen, is responsible for maintaining the Visual Merchandising presentations and the visual lab process, ensuring it is in outstanding presentation mode at all times, setting up and taking down merchandise for photoshoots, obtaining merchandise for all photo shoots and walk-throughs. Regularly communicate and share information with various cross-functional teams as needed including cross-department teams including merchant leads, assistant buyers, merchandise coordinators, field visual leadership, and facilities teams.

 

Overview of the Manager, Visual Merchandising role

This position reports to the Director/Vice President and is part of the Visual Merchandising department. Special project assignments on as-needed basis including new store openings, store refreshes, the board of directors, special marketing events, and more. The goal of the Visual Merchandising Manager is to contribute to providing the best visual merchandising presentations that achieve brand initiatives to drive the business and to inspire every customer in our stores. 

 

Responsibilities

Effectively perform operations functions, including all “back office” management procedures as necessary Maintain needed inventory in the visual lab, including receiving and managing items needed for all visual presentations Work closely with the Product Development, Merchandising and Retail Teams in order to plan and request inventory needed in advance of shoots/walk-throughs and all presentations Continually seek out inspiration, trends, and ways to elevate the product and its presentations Responsible for set-ups and breakdowns of all floorset presentations Operate a computer and communicate via telephone Transport materials and equipment and lift, move and carry objects up to 50 pounds on a limited basis

Criteria

Excellent organizational, communication, time management, and prioritization skills A highly innovative and passionate individual with a track record for creating, partnering, and delivering in-store merchandising experiences Demonstrate commitment to high professional ethical standards; ensure the safety of items in the visual lab including the stock room People relationship skills; ability to provide direction to merchant teams and visual team members as needed; ability to take direction and communicate issues or problems Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills Creative thinker in regards to the strategic process that aligns with brand goals Works well in a team environment and autonomously Agility in working for a rapidly changing fast-paced company Visual Merchandising experience Adobe Suite programs (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Bridge, Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom and Teams software platforms Ability to lift and carry medium to large items weighing up to 50 lbs safely, utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques Ability to climb ladders and work from heights Ability to travel to stores

The expected starting pay range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000 annually. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
