Manager, US Insurance Internal Wholesale Team

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager to lead our US Insurance Internal Wholesaler Desk at John Hancock. This role is pivotal in driving insurance sales and contributing to the overall growth of the company. As the Manager, you will spearhead the formation and development of a high-performing team of internal wholesalers, aligning them with the broader sales organization to achieve our ambitious sales targets.

Position Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development: Lead and mentor a team of internal wholesalers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Implement training programs to develop team skills and enhance performance.

Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with Sales Desk and External Wholesaler leadership to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Contribute to the development and execution of strategic sales initiatives.

Sales Opportunity Management: Identify and capitalize on sales opportunities. Develop innovative sales concepts and execution plans to drive revenue growth.

Organizational Contribution: Serve as a key member of the US Distribution management team and the Sales Leadership Committee, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making processes.

Operational Excellence: Oversee daily team activities to support sales opportunities and proposals. Recommend appropriate staffing levels and manage resources effectively.

Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a Subject Matter Expert and Field Liaison, providing insights and analysis for proposal workflows and sales systems enhancements.

Product & Service Knowledge: Liaise with product teams to maintain a thorough understanding of our offerings, ensuring accurate and compelling sales messaging.

Communication & Training: Facilitate effective communication within sales teams. Lead training initiatives for new sales campaigns, script enhancements, and procedural changes.

Sales Support Development: Drive the continuous development of sales support staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience.Minimum of 5 years in progressive management/sales leadership roles.Required licenses: FINRA SIE, Series 6, 26, 63, Life & Health.At least 7 years of experience in the annuity/insurance industry or a related field.Proven business analysis and project management experience in supporting significant business initiatives.Exceptional facilitation skills with the ability to build consensus and motivate teams.Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of translating challenges into effective business solutions.Extensive knowledge of the Life Insurance industry, including product development, distribution, and regulatory structures.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate business cases and influence stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and large-scale initiatives simultaneously.Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with key stakeholders and business leaders.

Salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
