Translational Development at BMS
Translational Development (TD) is part of the Global Research organization in BMS and leads mid- to late-stage clinical, pharmacological, and translational research and development activities for the BMS pipeline. The Translational Development team supports the late-stage portfolio for regulatory, translational development and life cycle management. This group integrates scientific learnings from the lab and clinic as well as business insights of multiple functions and leads the development of translational strategies at the franchise level.
Summary
Reporting to the Director, Translational Development, Program Management the incumbent will manage complex and high-profile projects of assets/indications in late development.
Responsibilities:
Works closely with Translational asset lead/scientists and is a partner in ensuring the execution of the translational studyActs as liaison between internal and external functions, e.g., clinical, biomarker ops, and data managementActs as an Alliance Manager and actively manages external vendors/CROs in ensuring timely data generation and receiptManages projects/workstreams and drives meetings, agendas.Manages and communicates deadlines, risks, and escalates where appropriateManages collaborative tools used within the Team including sharepointProvides support to the immediate program management and ops team (as needed)Responsible for contracts and budgets where appropriateApplies scientific and/or technical skills and functional knowledge to manage medium scale programsPlans, identifies risks and mitigations in execution of next stepsIs proactive in identifying gaps, issues/risks and proposes alternatives in planning and execution of projectsQualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 4 years of pharma or medical device experience, 2 years project management experience or equivalent; PMP certification desirable.Strong project management skills, outcomes oriented, and results drivenDemonstrates effective communication skills, cross-functional collaboration skills, and cross-cultural awarenessWorks with a high level of independence to lead projects and teams, reaches out to manager for expertise and support (as needed).Good Understanding of organizational, analytical, and planning skillsEffectively utilizes project management tools and information technology systems such as Microsoft Office, Project, Excel, Visio, Spotfire, etc.Other Attributes
