Job DescriptionSupport of the Head, Payroll, to manage, facilitate and reconcile the legislative requirements for the Standard Bank Namibia payroll. This refers to the monthly, Mid-year and the Annual reconciliation, and will include the management and reconciliation of any tax resubmissions, the management and facilitation of the processing of NAMRA requests and the payments thereof to NAMRA on a monthly basis, the maintenance of the ITAS system, the resolution of tax queries from the Tax Department and employees to ensure that there are no penalties and fines raised, and the support of various internal audits and tax related projects. The responsibility of the Manager, Payroll Tax & Finance will also be to manage the balancing, clearing and reconciliation of all payroll related GL accounts in line with the relevant accounting policy/standards, and to manage the reconciliation of staff benefits and ensure that all relevant third parties are paid within the agreed Service Level Agreement. All reports must be provided to the relevant stakeholders as per agreed timelines and governance in order to minimize risk to the Bank and to ensure that there are no financial losses as a result of penalties, fines and late payments.
Support of the Head, Tax to effectively manage and control tax risk, across the Standard Bank Namibia Group, to ensure tax efficient processes, providing tax advice, establishing tax competency and raising tax awareness within the various divisions in the bank and its subsidiaries, maximizing shareholder value by interpreting and effectively communicating quality tax information, thus ensuring all entities within the Namibian Group comply with all applicable tax legislation

Payroll Reconciliation Expertise:
Ability to manage and reconcile payroll transactions, including monthly, mid-year, and annual reconciliations, ensuring compliance with legislation and accuracy in financial reporting.
Tax Compliance and Advisory:
In-depth knowledge of Namibian tax laws, including ITAS system management, tax resubmissions, and handling NAMRA requests. Capable of providing sound tax advice and resolving employee and departmental tax queries.
Accounting and GL Management:
Strong understanding of accounting policies and standards to manage payroll-related general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate balancing, clearing, and reconciliation.
Audit and Risk Management:
Experience supporting internal audits, managing tax-related projects, and identifying risks to ensure compliance and avoid penalties or financial losses.

Expertise in reconciling staff benefits, managing third-party payments, and delivering accurate and timely reports to stakeholders as per governance requirements.
