Job Description

What Will You Do

Arista Networks is the pioneer and industry leader in the delivery of software-driven Cloud Networking and programmable switches for Data Center and Campus networks.

We are experiencing tremendous growth and are seeking a technologist and a people focused leader to fulfill the role of a Systems Engineering Manager.

As our Systems Engineering Manager you manage a team of Network Systems Engineers who  act as trusted advisors to our customers, gathering requirements and identifying opportunities with existing and new customers to drive revenue for Arista's software-driven Cloud Networking Data Center and Campus based network solutions. 

Responsibilities:

You will utilize your expertise to manage, develop and direct a team of Network Systems Engineers and provide them the tools and directives to be successful. 

Conduct bi-weekly or monthly 1:1 meetings with your Engineers

Conduct weekly tactical meetings with your team to discuss pursuits and client engagements

You work very closely with the Sales Director’s and product management teams to define product sets and ensure revenue goals are met.

You will interface with C-levels at enterprise customers along with your team to define requirements and assist with the architecture of Data Center and Campus based network solutions using leaf-spine architectures, VxLAN, EVPN and BGP. 

Handle customer emergencies and escalations as needed

Provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering

Represent Arista at SDN and Open Networking industry events and conferences

Keep up-to-date on competitive solutions, products, and services

Qualifications

BS/CS/CE technical degree required

You possess a minimum of 5+ years of engineering leadership or supervisory experience

A minimum of 5 years of experience in an Engineering Manager or Consultative role supporting Enterprise Accounts

You possess a minimum of 10+ years of experience in the networking field with a previous background in the architecture, design and deployment of enterprise Data Center and Campus based network solutions

Previous work experience as either a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE or Network Consulting Engineer preferred

Previous experience with network overlays preferred. 

Expert knowledge in three or more of the following areas: Ethernet, RSTP/ MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, BGP, eBGP, VxLAN, EVPN, Multicast, Spanning Tree, QoS

Experience with SDN and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is highly desired.

Compensation Information

The new hire base pay for this role has a salary range of $143,000 to $200,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and US location. The salary range provided reflects the base salary and in addition may also be eligible for discretionary Arista bonuses, commissions, equity, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, tax savings and income protection.
