Position Summary:

Manger, Supply Chain will have overall responsibility to manage a portfolio of Third-Party suppliers in the assigned categories/segments to drive our program’s value across the supplier community, and to achieve revenue and margin targets while improving the supplier and customer experience. Manage a dedicated team of 3-4 professionals consisting of Senior Buyer(s) and Purchasing Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

Demonstrate role model leadership, strong relationship management and outstanding organizational skills. Utilize PPI and other methodologies to continually drive and implement efficiencies that benefit the team and enhance supplier management.

Manage the day-to-day operations of designated team including but not limited to purchase order processing, backlog management, cost variance, weekly/monthly reports review, negotiations, workflow, and personnel issues.

Ability to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment and to adapt to changing requirements and tasks.Prospect and research suppliers and their competitors’ products to understand the market, their market share and evaluate the opportunity to make the best decision for our customers and our company.Develop, deploy, and drive strategy across assigned category to aid in supplier discussions, negotiations, and business reviews.Identify opportunities and drive expansion of portfolio from assigned suppliers. Track performance of expansion and report in monthly metrics.Establish, review, and analyze metrics/reports on supplier and staff performance, publish and provide updates on metrics during staff meetings and to senior management.Present business reviews to suppliers at a predetermined cadence. Use existing supplier sales data, including supplier scorecard, and/or create new analysis, to evaluate supplier performance.Negotiate new or improved discounted pricing, rebates, or transportation savings with the category suppliers to achieve margin and sales improvement targets.Collaborate with suppliers to implement marketing programs that are available for them.Work with suppliers on their use of the Supplier Exchange utilizing new product additions, lead time updates and order updates.Work with suppliers to review and update their content and images on fishersci.com.  Submit item maintenance, pricing, cross references on items for suppliers.Assist the Encompass Customer team on customer specific requests involving suppliers.Interact with internal groups such as Portfolio Management, Supply Chain, Transportation, Legal, Accounts Payable, Sales, Finance, IT, etc. as needed.Attend trade shows and visit supplier locations.Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

High School degree or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred2-5 years’ experience in a supervisory role preferred.Experience in negotiations preferred. .Experience working in Supply Chain preferred.Experience in developing and driving strategic customer/client relationships preferred.Proven track record of being able to work well with teams, internally and cross-functionally.Effective interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work in a self-directed environment with minimal day-to-day supervision while providing leadership to staff.Ability to prioritize work and maintain a high level of organization.Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office applications, PowerBI and Smartsheet. (Mainframe, AS400, Cognos a plus).
