Data Analytics & ReportingSupports the research and development of stress testing and scenario analysis methodologies and related strategies in support of the management of risks arising from changes in the market and external environment for business/group portfolios and products. Applies knowledge of analytics algorithms and technologies to develop models, methodologies and supplementary stress testing tools and infrastructures that assess the impact of a stress on risk capital and ensure risks are properly identified, understood and risk related strategies are enabled. Summarizes statistical findings, draws business conclusions, and presents actionable business recommendations used in the management of risks and related activities e.g. defining tolerance for adverse outcomes, capital modelling, assess capital and liquidity, recovery actions, portfolio and risk management strategies and tactics. Specifically:
Develops expertise in the process of generating stress reports in Next Gen platform including setting up the inputs, checking the soundness of the outcomes and the addition of adjustments.
Automates processes where possible.
Prepares stress testing reports and creates content for senior management, internal committees and regulators.
Monitors the stress exposure across our desks daily and escalates excessive risks.
Coordinates the management of databases; ensures alignment and integration of data in adherence with data governance standards.
Consults with stakeholders to improve consistency and transparency of risk measurement, metrics and reporting.
Works with stakeholders to identify stress testing issues, understand root causes, coordinates implementations of solutions and evaluates testing outcomes before production implementation.
Develops an in-depth knowledge of the Business to identify specific pockets of risks and contributes to the design of more relevant stress testing scenarios.
Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
Analyzes data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
Between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Detail oriented, strong sense of ownership, and drive to follow through.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of stress testing and scenario analysis methodologies and frameworks.
Proficiency in statistical/numerical software.
In-depth experience in quantitative risk modeling.
Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth.

Salary:
$68,000.00 - $126,000.00Pay Type:
SalariedThe above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.
Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
