Royal Caribbean Group’s Risk Management Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Manager, Risk Management Med Network & Fin reporting to the Sr Manager, IT Portfolio-Shipboard.
Position Summary
This position leads the monthly close process for Risk Management and ensures that financial results are correct, and compliant with GAAP and overall corporate policies and procedures, including Sarbanes Oxley. Further, this position will develop, execute and manage the provider network strategy for the Company’s crewmembers. S/he will partner closely with the Risk Management executive team to build and manage a comprehensive, global network solution for the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages and leads the monthly close process for Risk Management and ensures that financial results are correct, and compliant with GAAP and overall corporate policies and procedures, including Sarbanes Oxley. Project the company’s crew / guest claim losses on a quarterly and annual basis using actuarial methods primarily historical payments. Manages the contracting of providers and/or medical networks including negotiating special financial terms as required. Manages the administration and processing of claim reimbursements from the P&I clubs including receivables monitoring and collection. Manages the analysis of the current performance of our medical networks to ascertain the financial and operational performance of each; make recommendations on how to optimize performance, ensuring high quality, cost effective, geographically appropriate networks across all healthcare services. Supervise the calculation resolution of issues involving crew sick wages, maintenance payments and reimbursable expenses. Supervise the preparation and administration of submissions for medical expense reimbursement by the insurer under the Assist Card program. Develops, manages and reports on the annual Crew and Guest Claims budget, Insurance premiums and department G&A budget. Provides monthly forecast updates, reports actual results and makes recommendations to senior leadership. Together with our Risk Management Executive team, create and manage a comprehensive, global network solution for Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD. Provides leadership and acts as primary liaison with third party administrator, brokers/underwriters and outside consultant for actuarial services Performs other duties as required.Financial Responsibilities:
Develops, manages and reports on an annual claims and insurance budget of $200M.Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in Accounting (MBA or advanced degree preferred). Minimum of 7 years of overall relevant experience including public accounting (Big 4 public accounting firm preferred). Certified Public Accounting required, other professional certifications (CFE, CIA, RMA, CISA) preferred. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley technical literature (PCAOB, SEC Guidance, etc.), internal control concepts and techniques. Experience with global/international operations/organization a plus. Associate member of the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) or Society of Actuaries (SOA) a plus Limited travel expected, however, must be able to travel up to 20% of the time, including trips abroad Project Management experience with complex and long-term projects Ability to develop presentations and effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors Understanding of actuarial methods and calculations Process oriented and able to lead and affect process change and improvements Self-motivated, adaptive, proactive, quick learner, and work well with others with minimum supervision, in a fast-paced dynamic environment Strong technical, analytic, problem solving and communication skills (both written and verbal) Strong attention to detail, yet maintain a big-picture point of view Excellent PC skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.We know there's a lot to consider.
