Manager, Quality Control

Role description: 

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for managing the quality function to ensure compliance with customer requirements and company specifications for manufacturing containers. 

 

Responsibilities: 

Maintain all pertinent records in order to adequately monitor quality performance and standards 

Review customer complaints with the appropriate plant department to ensure corrective action measures are applied to prevent the reoccurrence 

Support corporate and plant quality system policies and procedures 

Manage all ware audits, reports, and findings along with recommended corrective action plans 

Implement various quality programs and coordinate customer partnerships 

Interact with customers and customer service representatives to solve problems and foster strong customer relations 

Perform activities necessary for the effective management of the quality department including the selection of employee's salary administration, identifying employee development opportunities, and performance reviews 

Establish and maintain a safe, sustainable, and healthy work environment 

Manage a unionized workforce 

 

Minimum skills / qualifications:  

High School Diploma or equivalent 

Five years of experience in manufacturing quality 

Two years of experience leading in a manufacturing environment 

Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a team-based environment 

Must have excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills to interact effectively with management and outside customers 

Must have excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills 

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite  

Prior experience working with a quality management system 

 

Preferred skills / qualifications:  

Undergraduate degree in math, engineering, or related discipline 

Prior experience with SAP ERP 

Five years of experience working in the glass container manufacturing environment 

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
