Manager, Product Standards and Value Analysis + oakaland, CA + Finance + Materials Management + Full Time - Day + Management + Req #:40888-30207 + FTE:1 + Posted:December 19, 2024 **Summary** **SUMMARY** : Manages and oversees all aspects of the product standardization efforts, new product introductions via the value analysis process, and identifies and executes cost containment strategies to control non-labor spend. **DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS** : NOTE: Following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. Leads the value analysis process by gathering information to perform needs assessment, determining appropriate sources for products, reviewing clinical and non-clinical practices, conducting cost and clinical quality analysis. 2. Creates, manages, and coordinates VA Services Line Sub-Committees 3. Moderates Value Analysis Committee. 4. Reviews and identifies duplicate and functionally equivalent products for potential standardization. 5. Manages the product standardization process by eliminating multiple brands of functionally equivalent products in favor of Alameda’s Group Purchasing Organization contracted products and services. 6. Supports minority and women owned business enterprise (MWBE)/Supplier Diversity program aspiration. 7. Engages appropriate stakeholders to review products and share similarities and differences in products to assist in the standardization process to reduce variability in supplier, manufacturer, and cost. 8. Communicates results of all financial and clinical analysis to executive, clinical and physician leadership. 9. Facilitates change management and activities related to product introductions and conversions. 10. Negotiates contracts on behalf of the organization for products and services as needed. 11. Collaborates with both clinical and non-clinical, internal departments, to extract, understand and effectively communicate pertinent data. 12. Identifies cost savings and utilization opportunities by collaborating with departments, local and national Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO), and product benchmarking services. 13. Supervises Supply Chain Analysts in performance of assigned duties. 14. Assists with training of Buyers, stakeholders, and others on Value Analysis processes. 15. Obtains information required to facilitate the Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI) and contracting processes, with the final decision being obtained through the multidisciplinary or governance team process. 16. Performs moderate to complex financial analysis of supplier data, organizational spend and utilization, project data, as well as assess total cost ownership and total cost of care, to identify savings and general sourcing. 17. Identifies and assesses potential opportunities, develop business cases, and presents recommendations to various levels of leadership to build support of the initiative. 18. Participates in strategic meetings with suppliers and business leaders to ensure execution of defined strategies, contractual requirements, and emerging technology. 19. Establishes and develops preferred supplier programs and partnerships. 20. Performs other duties as assigned. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** : Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, industrial engineering, nursing, healthcare administration, supply change management or related field. Preferred Education: Graduate degree in business, finance, industrial engineering, nursing, healthcare administration, supply change management or related field. Required Experience: Four years of sourcing, contract management, finance, clinical, or logistics experience. Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Certified Value Analysis Health Professional. Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
