Role Purpose:
As a Manager, PPI Business System at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will act as a change agent in role modeling continuous improvement behaviors. This is an outstanding opportunity to influences all employees to engage in PPI by combining project management, facilitation, leadership, continuous improvement skills and capture of program/project benefits.
Major Job Responsibilities:
Work closely with the PPI LT to support and implement the overall strategy and execution plan for PPI across functions, groups, and divisions.
Successfully design, facilitate, and deliver function, business unit, or division level initiatives in support of organizational goals.
Identify and quantify financial savings for organizational process improvement projects, ensuring flawless execution.
Manage the PPI Business System, ensuring committed results and developing tools for business unit level initiatives.
Provide support in strategy deployment of PPI and its Culture at global, divisional, business unit, and functional levels.
A-Day-In-the-Life of a PPI Manager:
Projects - Facilitating, scribing and/or keeping time for projects across different departments, BUs, Divisions, even Groups. Updating project plan/A3 regularly to keep team members accountable, updating both the project's KPIs and actions. Customize PPI tools, workshops, regular meetings, and/or break-out sessions to ensure successful implementation of your projects.
Culture - Support implementation of PPI Cultural frameworks like Tiered Accountability, Gemba, Strategy Deployment,... influencing all levels of the organization to implement these frameworks.
Finance - Keep the hard savings in mind for your projects. Ensure the planned & estimated savings are most accurate. Put structure in place to record the true savings after the implementation.
Education / Experience required:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Proven ability to interface and effectively influence all levels of the organization, including leadership.
Knowledge of PPI tools like: VSM, Kaizen, 5S, Daily Management etc.
Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully implementing programs and projects.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, Visio, Miro or equivalent experience.
A passion for continuous improvement and the ability to communicate in a way that builds excitement and activates transformational & groundbreaking change.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with a focus on coaching and influencing others.
