Job Description

The Manager, Strategic Planning - Sports & Olympics is part of a team of enthusiastic media professionals who connect various divisions at NBCU Local.  This role will oversee all Olympics, World Cup, and Sports Tentpole (Super Bowl, Golf Majors, Premier League, NBA, etc.) sales planning activity across the NBCUniversal local portfolio.  The includes cross-team communication and education with Business Development Sales Leaders, Holding Company Account Managers, and national partners to ensure that all client needs are met and all planning and post-sale is tracked and delivered.

As Manager, Strategic Planning - Sports & Olympics you will be responsible for the following:

Lead in the creation of generic cross-platform media plans for Olympics, World Cup, and Sports Tentpoles (including Super Bowl, Golf Majors, Premier League, NBA, etc.) based on market costs, available inventory, and approved productsManage team of sports-focused Strategic, Multi-Platform Sales PlannersLiaison with research, strategy, production, AdOps, editorial, and finance teams to develop pricing and create streamlined tracking and distribution models for major eventsAssist with developing and executing high-level RFPs and strategic marketing/cross platform media proposals and sponsorships across the NBCU portfolio (containing NBC & TLMD owned stations and affiliates, OTT/CTV/Peacock, Regional Sports Networks, National Diginet Cable, FAST, social, and additional targeted digital assets) to meet advertiser objectivesMaintain relationships with direct client partners during pre-sale and post-sale by communicating campaign deliveries and post buy analysisOptimize and implement planning and booking processes across NBCU Local DivisionOversee tentpole delivery tracking and communicate status to senior managementComplete additional projects as directed by VP of Strategic Planning & Marketing and Director of Strategic Planning including project management, content creation, strategic planning, and tentpole event activationAssist in the coordination of sales marketing materials

 

QualificationsMinimum 5+ years experience in media planning, buying, or sales with knowledge of broadcast, digital, social and out of home preferredCollaborative, team-player who exhibits strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills when working with several internal departments and external partners/vendorsMust be expert in excel and proficient in PowerPointExperience with Wide Orbit, Donovan, Sales Force, Op1, Freewheel and media research tools, broadcast and/or digital sales systemsBachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience Exceptional communication, project management and presentation skillsClear, concise, objective and professional written and verbal communicatorSuperior organizational skills - must possess the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentPossess strong interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task and handle projects independently as well as part of a teamMust be willing to work in New York City areaHybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
