Manager, Outdoor Recreation Pro Shops
What you’ll do Outdoor Recreation is a cornerstone business for Canadian Tire. For well over 10 years, we have been supporting a “Pro Shop” program in Hunting & Fishing, which provides and enhanced & elevated assortment to over 300 participating stores across Canada. In the Spring of 2025, this program will be expanded into the Camping & Marine space to develop a complete solution for the avid outdoor customer across all key lines of business. The Manager, ProShop, reports directly to the AVP, Outdoor Recreation and is responsible for building the overall ProShop program. They will develop and manage project plans, meet deliverable deadlines, coordinate the activities of multiple stakeholders across the organization towards achievement of project milestones, and lead integrated process designs and re-designs across Marketing, Merchandising, Supply Chain and the Dealer stores. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional leaders representing Merchandising, Planning & Strategy, Network Performance, Store Support, Finance, Supply Chain, Legal, and IT. Reporting directly to the Pro Shop Manager is a Pro Shop Consultant who will support across all elements of the program + Lead meetings to develop the future state vision and design of future-state processes for current categories and future opportunities + Manage Pro Shop Concept, facilitating working committee meetings for launch of net-new Pro Shops and refresh of existing Pro Shops + Financial accountability for ProShop performance and preparation and management of financial plan and budgets for the project + Developing strong working relationships with vendors, key stakeholders, dealers and store staff, project sponsors, and external partners + Manage and evolve the use of Vendor Field Team and streamline processes to improve in-store execution, performance, and measurement – defining KPI’s and processes + Improve regionality, lead initiatives, and be SME with Network Performance and Store Planning teams to execute store specific assortment tools and provide guidance on Pro Shop stores including education and training of the tools + Streamline processes for supporting Pro Shop (i.e. floorplan, planograms and fixtures, licensing, event support, grand openings, and communication) and understand impact annual events have on store performance and customer engagement + Improve on and maintain up-to-date communication and tools for existing stores to leverage to improve in-store experience and community engagement through ProShop Hub page + Support Hunting business through the creation of Firearms SKUs and the implementation, communication, and training driven by any firearm policy/legislation changes + Ongoing analysis of competitive landscape including data collection, perspectives, and recommendations for relative market opportunities + Open to leading Playing division initiatives What you bring + 4-6 years in merchandise/project management/store operations experience and/or progressive growth in a relevant cross functional role + Must have good working knowledge of outdoor category including Hunting and Fishing + Previously developed vendor relationships and worked successfully with vendors on targeted marketing and merchandising initiatives. + The ideal candidate will also have facilitated workshops and process design sessions with employees at all levels, and have demonstrated leadership driving team success on a number of major projects and initiatives. + Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business plans and initiatives that will achieve financial performance and operational targets + Strong business acumen skills; demonstrated expertise of retail marketing, consumer trends, and project management + Absolute commitment to delivering consumer-focused initiatives; possess superior innovation management skills + Strong people management skills with demonstrated ability to develop others + Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills; regularly influences and persuades key stakeholders + Post-secondary education or equivalent experience Hybrid At Canadian Tire we value flexibility.
