Are you an experienced leader with mechanical- and project management skills? MacGregor’s CAS Business Line, part of the Equipment and Solutions Division, is looking for a Manager, Mechanical Design & Strength Analysis for our Engineering department. You will be part of the CAS Engineering management consisting of section managers and design hub managers.
 

Your main responsibilities will be to promote and follow up PLM way of working to our mechanical designers in CAS Engineering, promote CAS 3D-modeling standards, align and develop electric and hydraulic installation design and guide the strength analysis activities in our design network. To your help you will have a highly skilled team in the Gothenburg office and also in cooperation with design offices in the CAS Engineering network.
 


The position is based in Gothenburg,Sweden. You will report to the Director, Engineering & Product Management, CAS Business Line.

Main tasks and responsibilities Implementing, maintaining and developing the PLM and  3D-design way of working in CAS together with Engineering Management and Design hub managers. Work together with other sections in Engineering for continuous development of the design process and our products. Responsible for the competence development of Mechanical Designers and Strength Analysts in CAS Engineering together with Design hub managers. Responsible for developing and maintaining the electric & hydraulic installation process in close cooperation with all design offices. Providing accurate mechanical design and calculations together with Engineering management within the agreed cost, time and quality in delivering orders. Responsible for budget estimations of design costs in co-operation with the Director, Engineering & Product Management, and Engineering Management.
  What you’ll need to succeed Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering 5 years of experience in similar fields preferably in shipping/ marine industry Experience with designing RoRo products is a merit Technical knowledge of steel structures, mechanical design and basic understanding of electrics/hydraulics Knowledge of strength analysis- and CAD-tools Management and Project management skills Ability to collaborate within multicultural environment Fluent in English, both verbal and written
