As part of IHG’s Government Affairs Team for the Americas Region, the Manager of Government Affairs plays an integral role in advocating for IHG and its franchise owners across a broad scope of public policy priorities at the U.S. state and local levels of government. **Your day to day** + Play a key role in both the development and execution of government affairs advocacy objectives and public policy priorities for IHG at the U.S. state and local levels of government. + Manage a broad policy portfolio to advocate for or mitigate policy issues across multi states. + Interact with external stakeholders, including policymakers and trade associations to achieve the company’s government relations and public polict objectives. + Identify and track emerging policy trends within policy portfolio. Work with cross functional partners to determine impact to IHG and to develop and execute mitigation strategies. + Collaborate with national and state trade associations to ensure alignment on policy priorities and strategies. + Partner with Global Corporate Affairs colleagues and the IHG Owners Association to activate owner advocacy campaigns and provide policy updates to owners and key internal partners. + Brief senior executives on priority policy issues and prepare company leaders for stakeholder engagement. + Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between core business priorities and public policy goals. + Support IHG’s strategic external and owner engagement efforts in key markets. + Reports to the Director, Government Affairs – State & Local within IHG’s Global Corporate Affairs function. **What we need from you** + Knowledge of state and local legislative processes and government relations strategies. + Multi-state government affairs experience preferred. + Strong writing and analytical skills, as well as effective communication and relationship-building skills. + Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills – ability to work closely with people at all levels of the organization. + Able to work independently with limited required direction and guidance. + Efficient, organized work style and an ability to prioritize quickly and confidently. + 5+ years progressive work-related experience and a Bachelor’s degree; political science or public policy preferred. **Travel - 10-25% required as needed** **Location - Our hybrid work structure is an expectation of three (3) days a week in the ATLANTA office. This expectation may be adjusted to evolve with the changing needs of the business.** **The salary for this role is $58,844 to $115,000. This role is also eligible for bonus pay.
