As a successful candidate, you will:
The finance manager is responsible for financial operations and performance of the Orange County Regional Network which includes the Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, OC Hospital, and regional clinics. The manager will largely be focused on managing complex business processes, supporting the executive director of finance and OC Executive Team, including monthly financial reporting, budgeting, pro forma development, financial and clinical analytics, management of labor expense and position control tools, and day-to-day financial support. Additionally, this role will be the first point of contact on matters of financial operations and will help clinical and administrative departments navigate through complex financial processes as well as analyze the drivers of financial performance.
The manager must balance in-depth technical expertise with an over-arching understanding of the oncology care business and the ability to manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Essential Functions:
Financial Operations and Management
Prepare monthly financial reports and analysis including Monthly Business Reviews.Support and advise OC regional leaders in creating financial and operational solutions to issues uncovered through monthly variance reporting.Prepare and manage various financial and operational dashboards and reports.Prepare ad hoc analyses as needed using multiple financial and clinical systems.In collaboration with strategic services, develop pro forma financial statements to support business cases for new programs and services.
Annual Budget Process Execution
Manage the annual operating and capital budget process, ensuring alignment with the system-led Integrated Strategic and Financial Planning processes and meeting internal deadlines.Communicate budget process and requirements. Provide training as required.Collaborate with strategic services and other stakeholders to determine budget volumes and provide financial analysis for the strategic plan and initiatives.Establish budget templates, reports and supporting materials.Meet with budget stakeholders to ensure engagement, understanding and alignment with organizational goals.Create consolidated budget reports for OC Executive Team review.Serve as the superuser for EPM (or related) Enterprise Budget Planning System.
Labor Management
Manage the OC Position Control Process (BJF Process) including collection of requests, quantification of financial impact, budget verification, mitigation strategies, and benchmark productivity analysis.Provide support and advice to departmental leaders regarding productivity benchmarking and labor management.
People Management
Oversee the hiring, development, and engagement of employees directly and indirectly under your supervision.Mentors, trains, and develops others to increase professional development and growth.Facilitates cross-training to build team coverage and a cohesive work environment. Provide leadership and serve as a role model to peers and subordinates.Communicate effectively with staff to keep them informed of changes within and outside applicable departments.Utilizes strong communication skills and cultural competencies to maintain sensitivity in a culturally diverse work force.Partners with OC and Finance leadership to develop a culture of excellence and accountability while providing opportunities for learning and growth.
Other Functions
Serve as primary finance contact for OC region stakeholders.Project manage key initiatives within the OC Finance department including developing project plans, milestones, and metrics.Development of standard processes with departmental and organizational stakeholders, as needed, and ensure compliance with these processes through training and monitoring.Other tasks and requests as required by the OC Finance team.Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administration, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field. 5+ years professional financial management experience including Financial Modeling, Reporting and Analysis1 year of experience in a leadership capacityCity of Hope employees pay is based on the following criteria: work experience, qualifications, and work location.
