Job Description

The Manager, Event Center Operations works under the supervision of the Event Center Executive Director with the primary focus of advancing event details with clients and front of house (FOH) operations. FOH operations include, but are not limited to security/screening, ushers, box office, guest services, etc.

Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or as work requirements indicate; This position may require work beyond normal business hours, weekends, and holidays; This is an on-site position located in Stephenville, Texas.

Must be able to work remotely as requested by the university in times of inclement weather or other special circumstances.

Responsibilities:

Works with promoters and clients to understand their expectations of a successful event.

Serves as facility liaison to promoters and clients.

Establishes event needs based upon promoter and client expectations.

Communicates staffing and logistical needs to internal departments and outside agencies and vendors. Staffing needs include, but are not limited to ushers, security, medical, box office staff, etc.

Ensures proper execution of staffing deployments, equipment rentals and house logistics to meet promoter and client expectations.

Develops event budgets to ensure profitability.

Prepares event and labor estimates and ensures final invoicing is processed and paid.

Ensures contractual obligations and facility/university policies are maintained.

Oversees all aspects of ticket sales and customer service for all ticketed Tarleton State events (not including NCAA athletic events), including but not limited to university signature events, concerts, road shows, etc.

Prepares seating and event diagrams.

Participates in setting and achieving revenue generation goals.

Works with finance department on timely and accurate event settlements.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Five years related experience.

Preferred Experience:

Experience with management of public event facilities and safety procedures.

Experience working on several projects simultaneously with specific deadlines.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Knowledge of practices and procedures related to event logistics and operations.

Genuine passion for service with the goal of exceeding guest expectations through the demonstration of enthusiasm and dedication to providing exceptional service.

Strong teamwork abilities through collaboration, nurturing relationships within the team and valuing the importance of achieving shared goals.

Commensurate with experience

Salary Range

The target base annual salary range is $59,370 to $84,311 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
