GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
An Epic Manager is responsible for the high-level success of one or more teams providing implementation and production support for nephrology practices using the Epic CKD and related products. This includes product, project, resource, and time management as well as coaching, training, organizing, planning, and budgeting. This individual will work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure proper usage and acceptance of the CKD system. This role specifically will oversee four team members who support the user, security, and provisioning process. This role includes responsibility over all aspects of the process by which new users are added to Epic.
General Information about the Epic CKD Team:
DaVita Physicians Solutions has established a partnership with Epic, the market leader in Electronic Health Records (EHRs), with the goal of maximizing physician satisfaction and improving the quality outcomes of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patients.
The tools and support the team delivers are used by nephrology practices to manage CKD patient populations in promoting better outcomes and interoperability, while improving physician experience and aiding in revenue cycle practice management.
DaVita Physician Solutions CKD EHR by Epic, is offered to nephrology practices that are independently owned and operated. Many of these practices are smaller than typical Epic customers and value independence while leveraging the best available industry technology.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Team leadership
Direct management of team including analysts, trainers, project managers, and support staffTraining, mentorship, and coachingProduction support
Monitor ServiceNow for incidents and requests assigned to teamOversight of team-owned work ques and error queuesSome on-call responsibilities for urgent issuesProject management
Provide escalation support for team members working on new implementationsEngage with third parties to ensure successful contracting and connectivitySupport project success in remaining on time, on budget, and within scopeProduct management
Oversee success of Epic upgrades and releasesWork in Nova, Orion, Asana, and other tools to ensure build completionWork with end users and SMEs to understand enhancement and optimization requestsOversee product roadmap design and executionCommunication and stakeholder management
Maintain positive and productive relationships with stakeholdersAddress escalations and concernsOther duties as assigned.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, TRAINING, OR QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Bachelor’s Degree5+ years of technical experience in Epic security including senior-level system buildCertified in at least one, ideally 3+ Epic areasExperience working in multiple large and complex healthcare organizationsExperience leading small to mid-sized teams (direct or indirect leadership is okay)Strong at creating new processesAble to thrive in a fast-paced environmentPreferred
Knowledge and experience in the following areas:

TRAVEL AND TIME REQUIREMENTS
Travel: Up to 25% for visits to customer practices, team meetings, conferences, and training
Nights/Weekends: Occasional nights and weekend work needed during onsite trips and to support urgent issues
Language Skills
Fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.

Work Environment
Level III – Moderate noise (e.g., business office with computers or printers, light traffic). No required tasks involved greater exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues than would be encountered by a visitor. The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids or other hazardous conditions.
Visual Requirements
Vision adequate to perform the essential duties/responsibilities of the position. May be required to demonstrate the ability to differentiate colors on a test strip.
Physical Demand
Physical requirements can vary. These must be reviewed with management. However, in general, the position requires the following activities:
