Manager, Engineering – Supply Chain Order Mangement

Position Purpose:

Seeking world-class talent to join the world’s leading distributor of automotive and industrial replacement parts and value-added services operating 5,500+ locations and servicing more than 20,000 locations in the U.S and Canada.  Working with a highly talented team, you'll play a key role to build and run one of the world’s largest automotive and industrial replacement parts operations. 

This is an engineering leadership role with responsibility for modernization in the Order Management space and enabling the transformation to Cloud, along with partnering with the Common Services teams.

We will be looking for this candidate to have close collaboration and alignment with business teams, application development teams and security will be required.  As such, exceptional abilities in building and maintaining strong working relationships and organizational savvy will be required.  High level communication and presentation skills are required. Ability to attract, retain, and develop engineering talent will be critical.

Responsibilities:

Partnering with the cross-functional GPC team, implement the strategy and roadmap for modernizing the Order Management domain and associated platforms.Implement the technology platforms architecture and execute on roadmap to support build out the new Order Management related capabilities needed for the global order management strategyOverall engineering accountability for the Order Management platforms. Responsible for delivery and support of the platformResponsible for simplifying the complexity of current Order Management processes and improving the user experience, and reducing the technical debt and total cost of ownership.Partner with peer leaders to accelerate and embed agile methodologies across the organization to increase customer-backed problem solving, to increase pace of solution delivery, to accelerate innovation and to enhance cross-functional collaboration.Recruit, manage, and motivate a team of engineers to develop best-in-class solutions.Other duties as assigned.

Location:

GPC has two work locations to choose from, Duluth or Atlanta office.We offer a Flexible Work Policy that permits eligible employees to work a hybrid remote schedule.

Desired Qualifications & Experiences: 

Degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent experience8 (10+ preferred) years’ experience in software engineering delivery (including 3+ years in leadership role)Consistent track record of leadership, teamwork, and delivering high impact results.Experience managing 7+ FTE team of internal and extended delivery resources.Ability to effectively share technical information, communicate technical issues and solutions to all levels of business.Ability to attract, motivate and retain world-class IT talent.Able to juggle multiple projects - can identify primary and secondary objectives, prioritize time, and communicate timeline to team members.Must also have broad and deep technical understanding of the technologies in this field, including but not limited to 7+ years of developing / implementing / customizing Distributed Order Management (DOM), Order Management System (OMS) (preferably IBM Sterling) and Inventory VisibilityHands on design and customizing experience with DOM and OMS, such as IBM Sterling OMS.Experience developing extensions of DOM and OMS systems, preferable Sterling OMS. Expertise in Java/J2EE, XML, XSLT, Oracle and Middleware technologies.Ability to work independently with minimal direction, be a self-starter with strong initiative, and ability to manage / execute workload to deliver high quality results in onsite-offshore model.Strong communication skills.Consistent track record of teamwork and delivering high impact results.Experience with public cloud such as GCP, AWS, or Azure (Preferably GCP).Strong communication skills
