Manager, Employment Investigations
**Summary:** As a Manager, Employment Investigations at Meta, you will lead a team responsible for conducting prompt, thorough, and fair investigations comprising background research, investigative interviews, and debrief meetings in partnership with Employment Law, HR and Employee Relations Business Partners, and the business. Although you and the team will primarily conduct investigations in your local region, you will be expected to manage investigations cross-regionally.Success in this role requires managing a high-performing team that executes with speed and quality, including focusing on prioritization, embracing ambiguity, improving systems, communicating effectively, building relationships, developing others, and driving execution. Our Employment Investigators demonstrate a high degree of empathy balanced against the capacity to provide direct feedback and confront witnesses with difficult information. Investigators must communicate findings, provide summaries and conclusions to the business so that long-term solutions can be developed and applied. Finally, this role requires working effectively across geographical boundaries and discerning systemic issues revealed during the investigative process. **Required Skills:** Manager, Employment Investigations Responsibilities: 1. Manage a team of investigators conducting complex end-to-end workplace investigations 2. Set clear expectations and goals for investigators and remove operational barriers 3. Communicate strategic information and context from the company and organization to the team 4. Assign cases and projects aligned with team strengths, skills, and motivations, and adjust management style to match the needs of the individual 5. Build a work environment where differences are appreciated, and everyone feels valued 6. Show care by understanding what matters most to people 7. Recognize people for their contributions 8. Match people’s strengths and skills to impactful work and experiences 9. Give and seek timely feedback and asks the same of the team 10. With minimal guidance, ensure the team is healthy 11. Manage complex employment related investigations, end-to-end, including conducting intake meetings, background research, investigative interviews, and debrief meetings, across Meta office locations within the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and Europe. 15. Partner closely with global cross-functional partners within Employment Law, Human Resources and Employee Relations, Security, Internal Audit, and business units Investigate complaints involving violations of law or policy, including allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, bullying, privacy concerns, conflict of interest, integrity, failure to escalate and other inappropriate behavior 16. Discern systemic issues and utilize data to help develop long-term solutions 17. Provide timely communication to all relevant parties throughout the investigations process, including responding to case escalations 18. Remain respectful and empathetic in the face of difficult and uncomfortable situations surrounding an investigation **Minimum Qualifications:** Minimum Qualifications: 19. 10+ years of experience investigating and advising on employment-related matters 20. 3+ years of people management experience 21. Experience conducting investigations that will withstand legal scrutiny in multiple jurisdictions. 22. Experience working independently, acting on priorities and exercising proven judgement. 23. Experience fostering collaborative relationships in a highly cross-functional environment. 24. Experience documenting investigation findings and recommendations 25. Experience presenting findings and recommendations to leadership or those with dissenting opinions 26. Problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking skills and demonstrated track record of working with data 27. Flexible and adaptable to rapidly changing environment **Preferred Qualifications:** Preferred Qualifications: 28. Juris Doctorate or advanced degree in relevant field 29. Experience identifying relevant legal issues 30. Project management experience both at a strategic and tactical level 31. Formal training and/or Certification in Workplace Investigations 32.
