Manager, Distribution Operations – UK -Birmingham/London Hybrid

About the role
Working from our UK SSC and UKDC, the UKDC Operations Manager manages the day-to-day operational activities with our regional 3rd party DC partner that enables business processes and functions to run smoothly. Position oversees end-to-end flow from time of receipt at 3rd party DC through to retail stores and guests.


A day in the life
Manages the daily UK operational activities such as returns processing, four-wall order fulfilment, VAS projects, with our regional 3rd party DC partner.Monitors department operations to meet specific company SLAs (service level agreements) and guest/store expectations.Safeguard procedures (SOP’s), identify problems and quickly resolve them.Create compliance between operations and company standards or legal requirements.Participate in monthly performance reviews with our 3rd party DC partners. Report on their performance and communicate any gaps in SLA to key internal stakeholders. Inform cross-functional partners on the 3rd party DC’s capabilities, constraints, and workarounds by summarizing performance expectations from 3rd party DC partners and providing qualitative and quantitative feedback to internal stakeholders.Demonstrate a continuous improvement mind-set by pro-actively identifying opportunities for overall SLA/performance improvements and cost saving initiatives.Work with our Global Inbound Logistics team and external (regional) partners on inbound forecasting, PO priorities, capacity planning and KPI’s & DC Excellence. Encourage and foster a spirit of personal development and entrepreneurship.Provide a work environment that is upbeat, fun, and inspiring. 
Qualifications


Business administration, operations management, supply chain management, logistics, industrial engineering, or equivalent training desired.Minimum 5 years’ experience as a manager in distribution & logistics operations.Experienced in managing third-party logistics provider(s) and/or distribution operations in a fast-paced and fast-growing environment.Sound responsive analytical and problem-solving skills.Proven organizational and leadership skills are required. Understanding of cross border compliance preferred.Clear communications skills to inspire, motivate and provide cross-functional leadership. Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office applications, familiar with WMS software applications and retail systems)Ability to think “outside of the box,” enjoys challenges and is solutions oriented. Capable of travelling regularly between multiple country destinations to support business needs.

Role Classification: 
Office environment involves long periods using a computer and handling desk work. Office is based within our (outsourced) distribution Centre in the Netherlands. Limited travel to/from other DC or SSC locations will be required.
