Manager, Corporate Finance
Position: Manager, Corporate Finance Job Description: As the Manager of Corporate Finance, you will be responsible for financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and providing strategic insights to senior management. Reporting to the Director of FP&A, you will play a key role in shaping the company's financial strategies and ensuring the alignment of financial initiatives with our overall business goals. Core Responsibilities & Duties: + Oversee the development and maintenance of financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support strategic decision-making for the corporate cost centers + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data, providing insights into business performance, trends, and opportunities + Prepare financial reports, variance analysis, and executive summaries for senior management, Board of Directors and other stakeholders. + Participate in the development of financial strategies, long-term planning, and capital allocation decisions + Assist in evaluating potential investments, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives through financial analysis and due diligence + Monitor key financial metrics and performance indicators to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement + Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements + Stay current with industry trends, market conditions, and economic factors that could impact the company's financial position Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or CFA designation is a strong plus + 10 years of progressive experience in finance roles, including experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, or corporate finance + Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights + Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and using financial software tools + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to various stakeholders + Experience in evaluating investment opportunities and conducting financial due diligence + Strong understanding of financial markets, economic trends, and industry dynamics + Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing circumstances + Leadership qualities with the ability to guide and mentor team members + Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage complex financial projects + Strong desire to build and lead cross-functional projects and workstreams – e.g., Finance, Accounting, IT, Ops, etc. Skills: + Ideal candidate will possess a “can do” attitude with a “will do” work ethic + Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of operations + General computer skills - Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adaptive Insights, Oracle + Excellent communication and problem-solving skills + Preferred - Data aggregation and building models via PowerBI + Preferred - Knowledge of financial reporting and forecasting tools (e.g. NetSuite, Oracle EPM, Adaptive) + Preferred - Experience designing, implementing, and automating management reporting Forward Air is an Equal Opportunity employer. #IND About Us Since 1990, Forward Air has been a leading provider of ground transportation and related logistics services to the North American air freight and expedited LTL market.
