Manager, Corporate Accounting

We’re looking for an amazing Manager, Corporate Accounting to fill this role. This is a hybrid, in-office role. You’ll work in person at our Seattle or Miami Office Tuesday to Thursday each week. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the recording, analyzing, and reporting of Holland America and Seabourn’s general and administrative financial responsibilities for shoreside personnel, advertising and promotion. This role will be highly collaborative while being responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of corporate accounting. The role will be responsible for collaboration and interaction with all levels throughout the organization and improve processes under the scope in order to meet organizational and functional goals. Here’s a summary of what Holland America Line is looking for in its Manager, Corporate Accounting Is this you? **Responsibilities** + Execution and Performance + Manage and oversee all JEs and reconciliations associated with compensation accounting, shipboard payroll and shoreside payroll. + Oversees P&L monthly variance to last forecast (MVLF) and balance sheet trend reports to facilitate review of variances every month. + Lead monthly review of P&L and Balance Sheet. + Team Leadership/Performance Management + Provide day-to-day direction and functional guidance to staff as well as review staff’s work to ensure timely and accurate submission of financial information. + Review of team’s work to ensure timely and accurate submission of financial information/reporting. + Planning, managing, and prioritize team’s workload/ad hoc projects + Process Improvement + Leads through team of managers, executes functional business plans, and contributes to the development of functional strategy for Finance by interacting with executives to address critical issues and set policy. + Identify and implement process improvements, work with own team and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement. + Compliance and Accuracy + Coordinates and oversees all open items related to month-end/quarter-end/annual close, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of reporting. This includes responding to requests from internal audit, external audit, financial reporting, and inquiries from operations. + Maintain technical knowledge and skills through continuing professional education. This provides the tools needed to navigate the balance sheet and the P&L and aid on GAAP and IFRS issues. + Stakeholder Management/Culture Essentials + Work with Carnival Corporate on G/L related issues. These could include setting up new G/Ls (EUR ledgers); liquidation of obsolete companies; intercompany settlements and account clean-up; monitoring changes to equity and investments in subsidiary accounts; and ability to provide detailed explanation of FX impact to the P&L. + Provide leadership and direction through day-to-day management of the Corporate Accounting team while living out the corporation’s culture essentials. **Requirements** + Bachelor’s degree inaccounting and/or finance + Certified Public Accountant preferred. + 5-7 years of accounting experience or progressive experience + Experiencing in a management role and/or leading teams + Established expertise in financial operations, financial controls, GAAP accounting, financial reporting, and financial systems + In-depth experience in directing the accounting and reporting of a highly complex, diverse, multi-location financial organization + (preferred but not required) + Excellent project management and presentation skills to effectively communicate and present to Executive Leadership + Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships, work in a highly organized and efficient manner, and take projects to completion in a timely manner. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired.
