Job Description Responsible for contributing to the development and execution of employee programs and initiatives set out in the employee communications strategy and plan, with accountability for the management and oversight of specific initiatives as assigned, including: AbbVie TV System; Employee Meetings and Leadership Forums, working with affiliates and Creative Network; post event surveys; “all employee” emails/newsletters; to drive a greater understanding and appreciation of AbbVie’s business strategy, leadership and ability to execute, to promote and protect AbbVie’s business objectives, image, reputation and enhance stakeholder perception and competitive position, and enhance employee awareness of and engagement in business and social responsibility goals. Responsibilities •Key contributor to building best-in-class communications practices that advance AbbVie’s ability to build and sustain its corporate story and competitive positioning. - Support strategies and initiatives that engage employees through compelling communications outreach, programs and initiatives •Contribute to developing employee communications strategies that are aligned and support the corporate strategies and priorities of the company; and are an integral component of AbbVie’s overall Corporate Communications strategy, supporting shareholder, customer, patient and employee priorities and objectives. Contribute to the development and effective use of a global framework for employee communications relevant for Area and local affiliate customized use and provide advice on same •Contribute to the development of multifaceted plans with initiatives and programs that each contribute to advancing the strategy and are effective vehicles to drive clearly defined messages across all channels of distribution, reaching and engaging employees. Contribute ideas on leveraging employee communications opportunities around key U.S. and global specific corporate function events and milestones •Work collaboratively with peers to continually identify high impact internal and external communications opportunities to enhance AbbVie image and reputation; provide leadership, develop corporate employee strategies and execution of related internal programs and initiatives •Contribute to effective employee communications response capability to efficiently manage external and media issues internally, with consideration of related function and corporate policies and positions •Manage content for AbbVie Symon TV system, including creating slides, sharing with affiliates and publishing. Manage Symon contract, and relationships with IT / affiliates •Manage all planning logistics for Employee Meetings and Leadership Forums, including liaising with affiliates, Creative Network and other partners to ensure event is flawlessly executed. Partners with Director, Tracking and Measurement on administering and analyzing post-event surveys in order to inform future efforts and monitor progress •Prepare and send specific “all employee” emails/newsletters including CEO messages, AbbVie Information, Our AbbVie News Weekly, and campaign messages when distributed to global or Lake County audiences. Manage timing and appropriate flow of communications developed, partnering with Sr. Manager, Employee Communications and Portal, on editorial calendar planning and coordination with My AbbVie portal •Coordinate with HR communications and other functions communications teams, as needed, to ensure all employee communications are coordinated and delivered most effectively to the greatest readership and drive employee engagement, partnering with Sr. Manager, Employee Communications and Portal Management. Identify new communications channels/solutions that allow for more efficient publishing of content, while building greater engagement with employees. Qualifications Qualifications •Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Integrated Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or equivalent •8+ years of relevant experience and proven track record of success in managing employee communications initiatives which protect corporate reputation, citizenship, crisis planning and company values •Experience in the healthcare/bio-pharma industry a plus •Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with knowledge of emerging communication trends and technologies •Strong business acumen with the ability to anticipate company and team needs Additional Information Applicable only to applicants applying to a position in any location with pay disclosure requirements under state or local law: ​ ​ + The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position.
