What You Will Do

Act as a key interface with across functional teams for key components selection in the NPI phase; identify the needs for re-design and leads the efforts.Develop and execute Harman commodity sourcing strategy based on business needs, supply base performance, market situation/trends, new technologies, etc.Stay on top of the market and industry trends, and provide intelligence to the organizationLead special procurement programs to improve procurement process and resultEstablish consistent commercial terms/conditionsExecute effective supplier negotiations and event driven cost reductions to meet annual cost reduction goalsBuild appropriate senior level supplier relationshipsDrive supplier rationalization strategy to maximize category leverageManage the bid and quote process in NPI executionEstablish goals, improvement plans, business reviews and monthly reporting related to areas of responsibilityWork with Supply Chain, Sourcing and Value Engineering teams to identify potential efficiency improvements and cost reduction opportunities.

What You Need

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree. 8+ years of procurement experienceProven leadership, interpersonal, communication, and influence skillsStrong analytical skillProven ability to lead and achieve cost, quality, and time-to-market commitmentsStrong negotiation and relationship building skillsStrong presentation and writing skillsAbility to speak clearly and express opinions well in groups and in one-to-one conversations
