Reporting to the Sr. Business Manager, the Manager, Business Management is accountable for gathering and integrating information to promote the effective and profitable operation of BMO Insurance and enhances the business in the marketplace and within the Bank. As the Manager, you will work with stakeholders to interpret financial and business results, understands the operating environment & emerging trends and provide planning, support and recommendations to improve operational effectiveness and tracks achievement of objectives. You will provide strategic counsel and execute internal events and direct and organize logistics of these events. Supporting the development of effective, consistent communications for BMO Insurance and for the leadership team. The key deliverables include taking lead in annual strategic plan, monthly financial reporting and KPI tracking, overarching team initiatives and governance of strategy execution through management forums.

As the Manager, Business Management you will work across organizational boundaries to deliver specific project/program business results in alignment with overall group goals.

Support an assigned senior leader in executing strategic priorities for the business/group.Act as a trusted advisor to BMO Insurance and assists in the development of business strategies and plans to ensure readiness to meet changing business needs & strategies to support future growth.Support the determination of priorities, current and planned initiatives in partnership with the business/group and supports requirements related to strategic management for the business/group.Work with stakeholders to establish the key business initiatives/priorities to support the strategic direction.Influence and negotiate to achieve business objectives.Recommend and implement solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.Provide input into the planning & implementation of operational programs.Break down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.Conduct independent review, analysis, and resolution of strategic issues.Monitor and tracks performance and addresses any issues.Design and produce regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.Lead or participate in defining the communication plan designed to positively influence or change behaviour; develops tailored messaging; and identifies appropriate distribution channels.Build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.Ensure alignment between stakeholders.Ensure the effective planning and control of unit operating expenses in accordance with business forecasts.Integrate information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis and/or streamlined reporting.Focus is primarily on Insurance within BMO; broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

Typically, between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience.University degree preferred.Deep knowledge of the financial services industry (Insurance industry preferred) and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.Expert consulting, change management, project management and strategic thinking capability.Proven ability to implement strategic vision.Exceptional relationship management skills.Expert ability to navigate the corporate environment to deliver results.Positive and solution focused attitude a must.Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth.Collaboration & team skills - In-depth.Analytical and problem-solving skills - In-depth.Working impact and influence capabilities - In-depth.Data driven decision making - In-depth.

Salary:

$68,000.00 - $126,000.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
