The Commercial Risk Manager will be responsible for assisting with contract negotiations, providing support and guidance during project operations as well as resolving contract issues and disputes. The goal is to manage the projects so that it is delivered as per the contract including finishing on schedule and within budget. This position evaluates, recommends, monitors and provides work product to appropriately manage project risks.

Project Management Planning:
Create a risk management plan, setting performance criteria, compiling reference data, establishing a decision-making structure, organizing the project, defining the roles and responsibilities of team members, execution planning, insurance planning and overall compliance with our risk management strategies.

Project Delivery Risk Management:
Oversee risk and opportunity management in major project or program environments to enable achievement of project goals and objectives through risk modelling, qualitative risk assessments, quantitative risk management and overall contract, subcontract and purchase order contract compliance.

Contract Administration:
Must understand design phase contracts, implement construction procurement strategies, ensure notification timelines are met, general risk management and resolve contract disputes.

Professional Practice: Adhere to the standards and ethics of construction management, define the commercial and legal relationships, coordinate internal and external legal support, engage with surety and insurance as necessary, develop relationships with counterparts for JV Partnerships and communicate risks directly to Executive Management.
