About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join the Finance team at Willowdale Mine. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this key role comprises a blend of management accounting, business advice, leadership and overall linking financial obligations of the Corporation to the site. To promote work-life balance, we offer a Monday to Friday roster with a paid day off every four weeks.

In this role, you will work within a collaborative and supportive team which will see you develop close working relationships with operations and corporate finance personnel. Furthermore, you will be delivering quality business information and pursuing value adding business improvement opportunities along with:

Developing and facilitating standardised methodology cost management systems and processes, including activity-based costing.

Coordinating business planning and forecasting, monthly performance reporting and analysis in line with all statutory accounting and corporate requirements and Controllership leadership support for financial processes and preparing economic project evaluations for the Willowdale Mine.

Utilize the Alcoa Business System (ABS) to drive continuous improvements in financial processes and services.

Identify and implement best practices in financial management across locations.

Ensure site compliance with statutory accounting and corporate requirements.

What you can bring to the role:

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

Tertiary qualifications in Finance or Accounting coupled with a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) accreditation.

Solid management accounting experience, strong technical, financial modelling and analytical skills.

Strong team leadership capabilities, utilising your well-established communication skills to be an effective and valuable senior team member.

About the Location

Willowdale is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia, and is located in the Darling Scarp east of Waroona and Cookernup. It supplies bauxite ore to the Wagerup Alumina Refinery via a direct overland conveying system and helps to produce almost half of Australia’s alumina and approximately 19 per cent of Australia’s aluminium.
