Position Overview:

Trimble is seeking a dynamic and motivated Makerspace Intern to join our Office of Technology Innovation and SketchUp team at our Westminster, CO location. This full-time internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge digital fabrication tools, contribute to the organization and safety of our innovative Makerspace, and create engaging marketing content.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Management: Assist in organizing and maintaining the Makerspace, ensuring all equipment (FDM printers, SLA printer, CO2 laser cutter/engraver, CNC machine, soldering equipment, drill press, heat press, sewing machine, Circuit, and hand tools) is operational and accessible.

Training Development: Develop training programs and materials for major equipment to empower users with the knowledge and confidence to operate the tools safely and efficiently.

Safety Planning: Create and implement detailed safety plans and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all users.

Content Creation: Produce and manage social media content, focusing on short-form videos, to raise awareness of the Makerspace and its capabilities. Collaborate with the social media team to publish 3+ posts per week.

Marketing and Engagement: Increase the visibility and usability of the Makerspace through strategic marketing efforts. Demonstrate the value of the space to the company and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.

ROI Calculation: Develop templates for ROI calculations to provide quantifiable metrics that evaluate the impact of the Makerspace.

Qualifications:

Current student or recent graduate with coursework or experience in Digital Fabrication, Digital Technology, Marketing, or related fields.

Knowledge and experience in operating Makerspace equipment.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficiency in creating social media content, particularly short-form videos.

Teaching and training capabilities.

Preferred knowledge of SketchUp.

Ability to work Up to 40 hours per week, with most hours during 8-5 M-F business hours for training.
