Maintenance Worker
Summary Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Maintenance Worker. Duty Location: Folsom, California Responsibilities Performing maintenance and repairs on doors, windows, steps, ramps, walls, flooring, partitions, storage racks, shelving, and other related fixtures or structures. Installing or repairing wood and metal fencing and signage. Following proper safety procedures due to the nature of the work, the types of tools and equipment used, and the weight of objects handled. Maintaining trails, lawns, picnic areas, and other grounds areas for functional and safety purposes. Performing minor repairs on internal combustion engines, vehicles, and small engine equipment. Painting a variety of wood and metal surfaces using manual and spray-painting tools and equipment. Completing and maintaining related work records and reports. Taking proper care of tools and equipment used for work assignments. Performing other related duties as assigned within this classification. Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. You must be suitable for federal employment, as determined by a background investigation. You must meet any specialized experience requirements (see Qualifications). You must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license. Failure to maintain a valid driver's license may result in removal from the position. Position designated as a Moderate Risk Public Trust position requires a fully completed and favorable adjudicated Public Trust Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) upon appointment and requires reinvestigation every five years. You will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination conducted by an agency-approved licensed physician certifying your ability to perform the duties of this position. The cost of the exam will be reimbursed by the agency. You must be able to complete the Department of Interior's Motorboat Operator Certification Course (MOCC). Qualifications Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard for the WG-4700 General Maintenance Work Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Minimum qualifications for trades and labor positions are determined by evaluation of job elements. You must meet at least 2 points on the screen-out element(s) and obtain an average of at least 2 points on all the job elements to be considered qualified for this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and/or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours worked per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements by 01/15/2025. Education This position does not allow substituting education for experience. Additional Information You may be required to serve an initial probationary period.
