Summary of the Position:

The Maintenance Technician I repairs and performs electrical and mechanical maintenance on various food processing equipment, systems, and related controls with intermediate level of complexity. The person in this position independently completes changeovers on a limited number of lines.

 

Functions of the Position:

% of Time Essential (E) or Marginal (M) Functions Performed

45% E Troubleshoots and repairs processing equipment, systems and related controls.

40% E Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment. Utilizes hand and power tools to facilitate work.

10% E Works in fabricating as needed.

5% M Assists in other building maintenance or repair activities as needed.

Continually · Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following current good manufacturing practices, allergen/sanitation controls, food defense/food fraud, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and regulatory requirements. · Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality. · Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management. · Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas. · Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development. · Responsible to comply with all safety policies and procedures established for health and workplace safety. · Responsible to support safety culture by practicing safe

work behaviors, reporting potential hazards, and conducting safety observations.

Qualifications:

 

Education, Experience, and Knowledge:

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Five plus years of experience in repair, maintenance and troubleshooting.

· Intermediate knowledge of electrical components and wiring.

Skills and Competencies:

· Intermediate mechanical skills

· Intermediate troubleshooting skills

 

Job Specific Requirements:

In the event that the maintenance technician I is absent, the department manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
