Maintenance Technician
Position: Maintenance Technician Location: Camden, NJ-Advanced Manufacturing Division; East Pittsburgh, PA-Holtec Manufacturing Division; Orville, OH-Orrvilon Manufacturing Division Holtec International is seeking qualified Maintenance Technicians to join its Manufacturing Operations team. The Maintenance Technician will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of production equipment and facility systems. This hands-on position will support daily operations by maintaining, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of industrial machinery and systems critical to Holtec’s manufacturing activities. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset to support both routine preventive maintenance and urgent repair needs. This role involves working collaboratively with operations, engineering, and safety personnel in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Maintenance Technicians must be capable of interpreting technical documentation, performing root cause analyses, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Minimum required qualifications include: a minimum of 3 years of maintenance or industrial experience, including relevant military or technical training. Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and maintaining hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, lubrication, and power transmission systems. Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, diagrams, equipment manuals, and schematics. Strong understanding of safety procedures in an industrial setting. High School Diploma or GED required. Physical ability to support shop-floor operations, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, kneeling, and working in potentially adverse environmental conditions. Additional desirable qualifications: Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance or related field. Experience with overhead cranes, mobile equipment, and welding support equipment. Working knowledge of electrical schematics, motor control systems, and PLC troubleshooting. Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). Previous experience in a manufacturing environment subject to quality standards and safety regulations. Specific Areas of Responsibility : Perform routine and emergency maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems, ensure minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance. Install, repair, and upgrade production machinery and auxiliary systems according to operational needs and safety standards. Conduct equipment inspections and preventive maintenance tasks to identify wear, damage, or failure risks. Support the commissioning and decommissioning of machinery, including disassembly and reassembly of critical components.  Assist in maintaining accurate records of maintenance work, repair history, parts usage, and equipment reliability. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, efficiency, and operational uptime. Ensure compliance with applicable safety codes and internal procedures during all maintenance activities. Work closely with Maintenance Manager, Shop Managers, and Production Supervisors to prioritize tasks and resolve technical issues.
