Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team at Union Station in Washington, DC. You will be responsible for maintaining the upkeep of the garage, ensuring the facility is in top condition. This role requires you to work on the first shift from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, and you will be on your feet throughout the day in an open-air environment.

ResponsibilitiesChange lightbulbs.Paint bathrooms, offices, parking lines, walls, etc.Change doorknobs, locks, etc.Clean up spills on the property, including oil spills.Complete daily work order lists and update the supervisor on tasks completed or follow-up items.Check equipment for general maintenance (tire pressure, battery charging, wipers PM, etc.).Provide excellent customer service to all customers.Essential SkillsPunctuality and reliability.Weekend availability (may work Friday-Sunday).Mechanical aptitude (change ballasts and use hand tools such as screwdrivers).Experience in electrical, plumbing, preventive maintenance, parking garage maintenance, and HVAC.4+ years of maintenance experience.1+ years of working in different weather conditions.Ability to multitask.Experience working with work order tickets.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in painting and touch-ups.Experience in basic plumbing such as unclogging toilets.Experience working with quality assurance to improve facilities.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This position requires working in a garage at Union Station on the first shift from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM. You will be on your feet for about 8 hours a day in an open-air environment, which means exposure to hot and cold weather conditions. The facility is not air-conditioned or heated. No certifications, medical requirements, DOT licensing, or PPE are necessary.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WASHINGTON, District of Columbia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00
