Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for managing a wide variety of tasks in support of the Plant Manager. The Maintenance Technician position involves supporting the Plant Manager regarding various tasks including activities related to the facility, operations, quality, and maintenance.

Maintenance

Repair, replace and maintain all lighting in plant and offices Install and relocate manufacturing machinery and equipmentHandling assigned work orders and PMs (inspections, oil changes, meter readings, etc.).Performing a variety of routine maintenance tasksPrioritizing incoming work requestsCommunicating existing and potential issues with plant managerCleaning and maintaining toolsAbiding by safety measures and policiesLimited building and grounds repairs and maintenance as directed by Plant Manager

Operations Support

Setup and run various equipment in Model Shop to assist in any necessary rework, tool/fixture maintenance, etc.Use a combination of lathes, presses, grinders and cutting machines to cut and shape the part to specification(s)Perform preventive maintenance of tooling equipmentPreventive maintenance of the shop’s machineryComply with the quality and environment standards procedures and instructionsUse precision measuring instruments like micrometers, gauges, and other equipment to assist Quality with dimensional layouts, PPAP, inspections, and part verificationManages other tasks/special projects as assigned by manager

Facilities Support

Checking and responding to security and safety issuesPerform facility PM’s and inspections.Performing quality checks on HVAC, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systemsEnsure 5S principles are followed and improvements documented.Support implementation of electronic Maintenance work order system.Conducting inspections to ensure that standards are met by contractors or subcontractorsKeeping an inventory of cleaning and repair supplies

Education and/or Experience:

Qualifications include:

High School Diploma and work experience in similar positionGood working knowledge of print reading and various measurement devicesReading and interpreting engineering data: reading and interpreting engineering drawings (both by CAD and by hand), specifications, limits, fits, and computer-generated information in order to determine what has to be produced and to what specificationUnderstanding and demonstrating the safe operation, correct selection, and skilled usage of a range of hand tools and complex machinery used for toolmakingGood verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with others.Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficientlyOSHA training a plus

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

Ability to work standing most of the workday.  Position requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and reach for items averaging less than 25 lbs.Wear PPE where required.  Awareness of hazard communications procedure as well as safety protocols.
