Maintenance Technician

Basic Function:  Performs general and preventive maintenance to rooms, outlets,

public areas and the exterior of the property.  Ensures the safety and comfort of the guests and employees. 

 

Work Performed:

Handles preventive maintenance in all guest suites and public areas.Fills out parts request for supplies.Makes closing rounds and fills out the work orders.Handles various projects as assigned by the Chief Engineer.Secures the engineering department at the end of the shift.Helps set up banquet functions to include lighting.Complete other projects assigned by the Chief Engineer.Checks all lights.Assist other technicians on projects when needed.Assist with filter change out.Maintains records of rooms and public areas.Will minimize clutter and mess and will clean up work area upon completion of each project.Performs all work to the highest standard in accordance with Resort Policy and existing building code.Handles room calls and work orders assigned to him by the Chief Engineer.

Supervision Received:  Director of Engineering, Engineering Supervisor

 

Responsibility & Authority:

Ability to work effectively with all other employees.Helps to maintain budget.Fills out requests for material needed.Must be safety oriented.Must conduct and perform all work in a safe manner in accordance to Resort Policy and OSHA guidelines.Report to work at designated time in a clean, full, company issued uniform with nametag.Practice 10-5-3 rule in regards to resort guests and coworkers.

 

Minimum Requirements:

High school education or equivalent.  1 year experience in the hotel/motel or construction trade.  Good personal relation skills.
