Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:
The role of the Maintenance Technician Level 2 is a valuable member of the plant technical team who supports the plant operations so products can be manufacturedwithout interruption. Maintenance Technicians will have a critical role in the organization and willbe responsible for performing preventive, planned and emergency maintenance. Level 2 Maintenance Technician will have a trade school degree/certificate and 10+ years of verifiable experience or a Journeyman card and be able to lead level 1 maintenance technicians on work to be performed. This rolereports to the shift maintenance supervisor.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Work safely by following all rules, processes and procedures established by the plant management team.
• Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for assigned work area.
• Report to work at least 10 minutes before shift start to receive work assignment and apply all required PPE.
• Day to day coverage of production line equipment: respond to alarms, breakdowns, and production requests quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Diagnoses equipment failures, find the root cause and communicates actions taken to the rest of the team.
• Maintain facilities and related equipment by properly following preventative maintenance schedules. Troubleshooting and installing electrical and mechanical components as required to keep all facilities functional as needed. • Performs regular preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
•Maintains 5S and housekeeping in all work areas, especially when completed work on the production floor. • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments on machines and equipment.
• Takes initiative to improve PM documents and schedules, under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Perform major equipment repairs and rebuilds, (someweekends and holidays required).
• Uses maintenance systems effectively (PM Tracking(Infor), Spares Inventory (Tofino), Issue Tracking).
• Work with Process and Equipment engineering and other cross functional groups to resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability, review procedures, and minimize equipment downtime.
• Recommends countermeasures to prevent repetitive breakdowns.
• Participates in Total Productive Maintenance team while taking on small improvement projects to assist in improving the factory.
• Follows all aspects of Maintenance Safety protocol (LOTO, 5-S, Arc Flash, etc.), to ensure that the maintenance team operates safely at all times, always leading by example. • Reports injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses and property damage immediately to your Supervisor. • Provide complete set of tools to perform maintenance activities.
• Perform work on an aerial lift and operate a industrial fork truck and similar equipment • Performs other duties as assigned bysupervisor or management team.
Requirements: • Trade school certified as an Industrial/Electrician/Millwright or Industrial/Mechanic is preferred with 10+ years of experience maintaining industrial equipment and automation or technical military experience in lieu of degree or possession of a Journeyman’s card. • Powdered Industrial Truck Permit and Aerial Work Permit (requires passing scores on the Powered Industrial Truck and Aerial Work training tests • Ability to pass Maintenance Technician aptitude test
• Areas of specialization may include one or more of the following: electrical/electronics, mechanical/machining, or automation/PLC/robotics (AB/Fanuc)
• Skilled at troubleshooting injection molding machines, robotics, plastic welding equipment, automation, conveyance, and electromechanical systems.
• Sound mechanical aptitude, comfortable getting dirty.
• Familiarity with complex machinery, electricalcircuits, and plant operating equipment.
• Experience creating & maintaining a positive atmosphere in a collaborative work team.
• Ability to manage workload whilecontributing to a positive, team-oriented work.
• Strong controls understanding andtroubleshooting skills (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, others).
• Skilled with the use of a variety of hand and portable tools, as well as general machining and welding.
• Skilled with common workplace software (MS Word, Excel. PowerPoint etc.).
• Able to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Willing to perform shift and overtime as required.
• Provide personal tool box, tools and equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
