Your Role at KIK

Join our team as a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician (Monday – Friday with OT with rotating Saturdays 2:30 pm – 1:30 am) team, however, the candidate must be able to work on 1st shift (Monday – Friday with rotating Saturdays 4:30 am – 3:00 pm) for the first 90 days not extended longer than 6 months of employment for training purposes. In this role you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of machinery and equipment. Responsibilities include inspecting, testing and monitoring equipment, conducting repairs and replacements.  You’ll be a key contributor to the success of our plant.  Bring your expertise and tools to a dynamic environment that values efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement. This position has an hourly rate starting at $30.00 per hour plus a $0.50 shift differential for hours worked after 1st shift.  Enjoy a $3,000 Sign-On Bonus and eligibility for a 3% quarterly incentive bonus. The compensation is negotiable based upon a candidate’s experience and skill set. 

What You’ll Be Doing

Independently identify and repair equipment issues within assigned area with minimal supervisionDiagnose and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systemsExperience with troubleshooting bottling, filling equipment and gantry palletizersDiagnose mechanical problems, provide quick & innovative solutions for mechanical equipment breakdowns by applying proven skills in the principles of mechanics, fitting, plumbing, basic welding, metal fabrication, machining, troubleshooting, and analytical problem solvingPromptly respond to equipment related issues with customer-oriented mannerPerform general electrical repairs including wire connections, relays, photo-eyes, solenoids, working with 120v-480v, diagnose and wire up motors and troubleshoot variable speed drives. Must be able to properly use multimeter and read schematicsPerform preventative maintenance, and safety inspectionsModify, repair, install and troubleshoot various conveyor systems including but not limited to roller, belt, intralox, gravity, chain plate typesDiagnose, rebuild, troubleshoot and replace various pump typesExperience with using CMMS and documenting emergency and planned work and good communication skillsModify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various types of machinery, equipment and facilities in the processing & packaging departmentsSetup, takedown, and relocation of Process and Packaging equipmentFrequently modify packaging & process equipment for new productsProvide solutions to routine or unique equipment problems.Experience with general shop tools and fabrication including use of grinders, saws, presses, lathes and millsLifting, twisting, carrying up to 45 lbs. is a requirement of the positionWorking in non-temperature and temperature-controlled environmentsPossibility of working around high noise levels, depending on locationBe able to wear full face respirator as necessaryMust be able to work in accordance with Health and Safety and GMP regulations

What You’ll Bring

2 or more years’ mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging and/or manufacturing environment (food industry is highly preferred)High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) Ability to communicate effectivelyAbility to perform in a manufacturing environmentExcellent Interpersonal, critical thinking and problem-solving skillsTime Management and Organization; Ability to multi-task and react to changing priorities
