Job Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician II (MT2) performs a variety of skilled duties in one or more building trades, such as painting, carpentry, minor electrical and plumbing, drywall or other recognized crafts for purposes of maintaining, repairing or remodeling all owned and leased buildings and facilities to include HVAC and other mechanical systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
High School or GED
Experience
Five or more years prior maintenance experience required, with 1 to 2 years’ experience in commercial maintenance preferred.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration
Electrical, plumbing or HVAC certification is highly preferred but not necessary if 7 or more years prior maintenance experience.
Florida driver’s license required.
Other
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing.Demonstrated interpersonal skills that allow the incumbent to work effectively with co-workers and vendors.Skilled in the operation of a variety of hand tools and equipment common to the building trades and/or HVAC filtration systems, etc.Must adhere to all safety standards and established work practices.Should be well organized and able to adjust to changing job requirements.Ability to work independently, without close supervision, is essential.Must be able to remain calm during stressful situations.Must be able to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.Must be able to bend, stoop, pull, stretch, sit, stand, climb, and walk.
