Position Summary:
Bush Hog is one of the most recognized and successful names in the Agricultural Market. Quality Control Inspector III is a key position in the Company and will support and contribute to the company goals of profitability, return on investment, inventory turnover, and accident prevention. Quality Control Inspector III works under minimum supervision to ensure the quality of the manufacturing process. Inspect complicated assemblies, subassemblies and materials to ensure the specifications are in compliance with Bush Hog standards. Will follow through with the process to completion by checking outside vendors and supplier goods entering the plant and checking parts from production areas throughout the manufacturing process.

Essential Functions of the Job:
Focus, communicate, encourage and contribute to Safety in all aspects of the job and all company meetings. Perform quality inspections of all manufacturing materials, welds and paint using visual inspection and cmm, calipers, micrometers, tape and blueprints. Determine reject and/or scrap parts by using precision measuring devices such as cmm, tape calipers and micrometers. Identify, inspect and test complicated parts for manufacturing such as cast or detailed machine parts using engineering drawing or specifications and knowledge of product. Record and update all rejects and scrap parts in data base. Check and verify inventory problems or errors. Must be able to troubleshoot issues on the shop floor with shop floor supervisors and make decisions that resolve problems Perform all duties in a safe manner so as not to pose a threat to health and safety of him/herself or others. Ability to work with vendors to resolve issues. Perform all duties assigned by Supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):
Must have intermediate computer skills to set up MS Excel spread sheets using math functions, use MS Access Database and use of email. Must be proficient with the use of complex precision measuring devices including but not limited to cmm, micrometer, height gage and calipers. Must be able to use tools to test hardness of metal such as Rockwell and Brinell. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have basic knowledge of gage control process for manufacturing environment, and able to check measuring and gage devices using standards such as gage blocks. Must have basic knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control). Must be physically capable of lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds alone or 100 pounds with assistance.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED required. 5+ years of experience as an inspector in an industrial manufacturing quality position. JDE experience and knowledge along with MS Access Programming and database building, preferred.
