Job DescriptionPosition Overview:
Collaborate with Procurement Excellence Manager, Category Managers, and key cross functional stakeholders to identify, develop and onboard strategic low-cost country (LCC) suppliers (ex: Mexico) to drive competitive cost advantage, innovation, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and supplier footprint optimization for Amcor Rigid Packaging (ARP)
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Support the development and implementation of capital equipment, tooling, equipment mechanical spare parts, , and other category strategies in alignment with Business Group (BG) priorities and timing expectations especially in the areas of Plastic Injection molding, Blow Molding and Downstream technologies. Engage and collaborate with functional/operational stakeholders and other subject matter experts to ensure category sourcing strategy is aligned and capitalizes on supplier’s technology/product roadmaps to drive innovation and growth.Understand and document in a cost breakdown all the cost components related to above platforms, tools and services to identify cost savings and capital expenditure opportunities. Develop and maintain a portfolio of cost saving projects that meet Amcor targets for spend and working capital reductions and cash maximization.Leverage current supply base and identify/evaluate Globally new suppliers that meet Amcor performance standards and compliance requirements. Drive cross functional teams including but not limited to Operations, Operations Engineering, Product Development, Quality and other functions in this undertaking.Primarily in Mexico, identify, manage and implement multiple Capital Equipment, tooling, equipment mechanical spare parts as the priority, , supplier development and onboarding projects. Direct Material Supplier development could be in the long term scope. These will range from small to large suppliers. Works with broad objectives, limited specification maturity, multiple variables under limited guidelines and oversight.Coordinate project implementation activity with the Category Managers, Plant leadership, along with Quality, Operations, Operations Engineering, Supply Chain and Finance central functions.Anticipate and identify supply and business continuity risk and supports developing mitigation plans with category and cross functional teams.Publish regular status reports outlining project status, risks, and issues and effectively present and communicate with senior leadershipCreate and implement continuous improvement of specifications, and end to end program processes to improve business efficiency and elimination of wasteCommunications:
Prepare and deliver presentations to recommend/change company policy, sourcing decisions and to explain a process/obtain approval for corporate expenditures.Provide information to Procurement and Amcor senior leadership on strategic projects, business risks and corporate programsChair/participate on task forces, committees, or team groups across ARP that are Procurement led or enabledQualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering field10+ years strong engineering and manufacturing experience (Capital Equipment, tooling, mechanical spare parts /experience with special focus on cost reduction and lean operations) preferably in developing LCC suppliers. Resin experience is desirable.3+ years of accomplished project management experienceIndustry knowledge a plus – Products, plant operations, equipment, technology, etc.Supplier knowledge for Capital Equipment, tooling, mechanical spare parts in MexicoMaintenance experience with equipment and tooling in the plastic industry including Injection Molding, Blow Molding, One Step (combined injection and blow), Extrusion Blow Molding etc. is desirable. General knowledge of plant equipment, drying and material handling systems, integrated robotic systems, conveyors and palletizers is also desired. Proven experience in developing cost models, managing multiple projects, multiple resources and complex projectsProven strong interpersonal skills to communicate project plans, goals and objectives and coordinate resources to complete projects within scope.Proven ability to communicate, influence others and manage multiple resources, most of whom do not report to the project manager.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Microsoft Project, and SAP.Preferred but not required: English language capability.25% travel.Relationships:

CompensationThe starting salary for this position is expected to be between $101,900 to $135,900; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $101,900 to $169,900 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.BenefitsWhen you join Amcor, you will have access to a comprehensive benefits and compensation package that includes:
