American Water currently has an opening for a Maintenance Supervisor at our Woodbridge, VA location!  In this role you will work in direct coordination with the Production Supervisors and under the direction of the Manager of Operations to perform maintenance activities at two AW plants.

 

Primary Role

Responsible for performing maintenance activities and supervising maintenance team.  Manage CMMS, spare parts and consumables, preform preventive and corrective maintenance and repair activities; identify and manage subcontractors and coordinate with client to ensure contract compliance. Comply with equipment O&M manuals and manufacturer recommendations, update record drawings after modifications and perform regular inspection and calibration activities.

Key Accountabilities Coordinate all maintenance activities so they are performed in a timely manner and in accordance with the department’s budget including all internal and external maintenance-related activities such as materials, equipment, services, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, labor and health and safety. Accountable for ongoing budget management and compliance with all company policies and procedures Coordinate maintenance activities including materials, equipment, services, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, labor and health and safety. Manage budget and comply with company policies and procedures Direct supervision of the maintenance team (mechanical, electrical and instrumentation). Interacts with subordinates, supervisors, vendors, subcontractors and client regarding repair and maintenance activities and contract compliance topics. Prioritization, coordination and direction of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance and repair activities and performance of regular inspection and calibration activities Supervise the maintenance team (mechanical, electrical and instrumentation). Coordinate repair, preventive and corrective maintenance activities, contract compliance, regular inspection and calibration activities with staff, vendors, subcontractors and client Develop objectives and reports to meet internal and external requirements and improve operations efficiency Coordinate training activities as they may be required for all maintenance employees including required TECO training. Accountable for ensuring all employees and subcontractors (working on TECO's site) have valid authorization to access the TECO site Knowledge/Skills Strong interpersonal skills, organizational and budget management capabilities  Proficient in Microsoft applications and CMMS software packages Understanding of water treatment processes and hydraulics Experience with seawater desalination operations a plus!

**Must be able to obtain class 4 wastewater license within 1 year of hire**

Experience/Education High School graduate or equivalent; at least 10 years of increasingly responsible experience in commercial, industrial and/or water treatment industry Strong interpersonal skills, organizational and budget management Experience in high voltage motor controls, electrical construction, instrumentation, computer controls, SCADA, CMMS, PLCs, VFDs, ladder logic and power distribution maintenance (preferred) AA/BA Degree in operational discipline, management, or related technical discipline a preferred (not required) Competencies Decision QualityDevelops TalentDrives EngagementPlans, Aligns, & DirectsPrioritizes & Role Models SafetySelf-Awareness
