SUMMARY OF JOB The Maintenance Supervisor directs and manages the overall maintenance of all Hospital-owned properties through skilled trades, outside contractors and Maintenance Mechanics assigned to the operation. The Maintenance Supervisor ensures that all Hospital facilities are structurally sound, operationally efficient, well maintained, and safe. The work performance of tradesmen assigned is reviewed by the Maintenance Supervisor. The Maintenance Supervisor assists the Director of Engineering & Maintenance in developing long range plans for upgrading mechanical and electrical equipment and develops, documents, and administers preventive maintenance programs for all mechanical and electrical equipment. The Maintenance Supervisor supervises the performance of emergency and routine maintenance on campus facilities and enforces federal regulations governing environmental protection, the handling of hazardous materials and hazardous waste, and the use of chemical substances and materials. CONNECTING TO MISSION: Serves as a role model for Holy Redeemer to patients, residents, families, co-workers and visitors and acts in a respectful, supportive and empathetic manner RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS Education: A high school diploma or the equivalent plus completion of a certifying technical training program in electrical maintenance or completion of an electrician's apprenticeship is required. However, significant work experience in electrical maintenance beyond that required for the position may be substituted for the required education, technical training, or apprenticeship Experience: At least seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in the electrical trade is required. Experience must include a thorough working knowledge of National Electrical Codes for installation and maintenance of electrical systems. Experience must demonstrate the management of facilities maintenance operations including the installation, construction, and maintenance of equipment, utilities, and buildings, including pneumatic and electronic control systems. Related education and related experience may be substituted on a basis set forth by the Department of Human Resources. Licensure: A valid Driver’s license is required.
